• “Valencia?” I snap my head towards the voice that just called out my name. Gabriella. She walks towards me slowly and frowns when she looks at the screen in front of me. Gianna hasn’t done anything yet. She’s still arguing with Antonio. That’ll buy Marco and Dante some time.
• I contemplate hiding the screen from Gabriella and then quickly decide against it. I don’t want to lie to what is left of my family. I keep thinking about the fact that if Gabriella happened to be home with my parents that night, I would have lost her too. I thank God every single second of everyday for the fact that she’s safe.
