• I was going through my notes when I heard my buzzer. Puzzled, I walked towards it, my heart hammering against my chest. I didn't understand why I felt that way. It could be because of the stares I received behind me when I stepped into my building an hour ago. It felt like someone was watching me, but when I turned, I saw no one. The security man was the only one, and he wasn't looking at me. He was busy with his phone.
• I walked towards the door, beating myself about my decision not to have a peephole installed. I would have to take care of that tomorrow. It didn't hurt to be careful, especially when the state isn't safe.
