- I blinked my eyes open, disoriented, as I processed my new surroundings. I knew I wasn’t in my own room because of the new feeling of the unfamiliar bed under me and the aroma of pine in the air. I sat up abruptly, gripping the bedsheets, trying to remember what had happened.
