Chapter 14 Can He Do It
- “It's very simple!”
- Winston asked someone to bring over a hospital bed. He planned to treat Abraham in the middle of the main hall to display his skills.
- “Grandpa, a-are you sure about this?” Jada looked nervous while standing beside Colton.
- Abraham was an influential person. The hospital would be in trouble if anything happened to him.
- “Don't worry. You'll be witnessing a miracle.” Colton chuckled and did not look worried at all.
- Winston took out four needles under everyone's watchful gazes.
- The four needles were instantly inserted into Abraham's back and chest.
- With a stroke of his hand, the four needles started vibrating, and a white halo appeared in thin air.
- It was the Quad Needle Technique!
- Winston left the needles alone after the halo appeared and used his fingers to tap on different parts of Abraham's legs.
- Crack! Crack! Crack!
- Everyone could hear sounds that were not usually made by a body.
- Winston was treating the chest, back, and legs simultaneously!
- “Ugh!”
- A moment later, Abraham's expression started to change. He alternated between looking red one moment and ashen the next. His chest also started rising and falling rapidly in an irregular manner.
- He also felt as if thousands of ants were crawling over the injured area of his leg. It was extremely itchy, and he could not help but twist and turn his legs involuntarily.
- Everyone held their breaths and stared intently, afraid that something might go wrong.
- The tension in the air had become extremely intense unknowingly.
- Blaargh!
- At one point, Abraham could not take it anymore, and his head extended beyond the hospital bed. He opened his mouth and continuously coughed out a foul-smelling black and red substance.
- Upon closer inspection, it looked like the remains of something.
- Winston quickly handed over some tissue and removed the needles.
- “Old Mr. Quinn, don't worry. These are scabs left behind by your old injuries. You'll be rid of them completely after coughing a few more times.”
- “You can say what you want but who knows if that's the truth!” Hector chuckled coldly.
- “That's enough. I know my body well. My many symptoms have indeed lessened,” declared Abraham.
- His breathing became regular again, and he closed his eyes to assess how his body felt. His expression suddenly became one of delight.
- He had never felt so relaxed before.
- “Old Mr. Quinn, try walking around!” Winston smiled faintly.
- Upon hearing this, Abraham came down from the bed to walk a few steps. The delight on his face became even more apparent, and there was an inexplicable look of surprise.
- “My legs don't ache or feel numb or hurt anymore!” he exclaimed.
- Abraham walked a few more steps while announcing how he felt. Although he was not the most steady, he was not struggling as much as before.
- “It can't be! Could it be a temporary effect? Who knows if it'll come back again?” Hector cried out in disbelief.
- “Shut up, you idiot!” Longines reprimanded Hector sharply.
- He looked over, and the expressions of the members of the Quinn family had already turned grim.
- “If you're worried, you can go for a check-up,” suggested Winston indifferently.
- Everyone had the same thing on their minds. After all, what had happened was too unbelievable.
- No one believed that a condition that had lasted for decades could be overcome so easily.
- The hospital was well equipped, and it was easy to run tests.
- Soon after, all the necessary tests were completed.
- The results shocked everyone present, and they were petrified.
- The condition that made Abraham suffer for decades had disappeared entirely.
- “Miracle! It's truly a miracle!” Abraham could hardly contain his excitement.
- “To have such exceptional skills at your age, you have a bright future ahead of you!” he added.
- “Haha, Old Mr. Quinn. I've already told you that a miracle will happen!” Colton said with a chuckle.
- His gaze immediately fell on Longines, who was not far away, and commented, “How about it, Longines? Are you convinced now?”
- The former chief physician suddenly returned to his senses. He frowned and deliberated for a moment before asking hesitatingly, “Colton, did Mr. Coldrell just use the Quad—”
- Colton nodded before he could even finish.
- “Ha! It's no wonder that I lost!”
- Longines then sighed deeply, walked before Winston, and bowed. “Mr. Coldrell, please forgive me for my previous attitude toward you!”
- “Haha, no worries. Let's all work together in the future!” replied Winston cheerfully.
- He naturally would not take the matter to heart. After all, he had taken over Longines' position. It was expected that the latter would feel bitter against him.
- He then glanced sideways at Hector, who was frozen and looked stunned.
- The purpose of this challenge was not to emerge as the winner but to astound everyone with his display of medical skills.
- Since he had already accomplished his objective, he ignored Hector and pulled Abraham to one side.
- “Old Mr. Quinn, since I've helped to treat your condition, can I ask for a favor?” implored Winston.
- “Oh? Go ahead. I'll not refuse you as long as it is something I can do!” Abraham agreed to help without a second thought. He was feeling utterly pleased to have gotten rid of his condition.
- “I'd like to use the top floor of Argos Tower tomorrow!” requested Winston.
- “Oh? Is that all?” replied Abraham. He then nodded and said, “All right, no problem!”
- “Additionally, please don't let the booking party know about this for as long as possible!” added Winston.
- Upon hearing this, Abraham narrowed his eyes and smiled cunningly. “Young lad, you must be up to no good!”
- Winston smiled. “Old Mr. Quinn, please help me with this!”
- “All right!” Abraham pursed his lips. “I have no choice since I like you!”
- Winston felt relieved after hearing Abraham accept his request.
- Now that the location was set, that was half the battle won! Tomorrow will definitely be a day of explosive news in Jadeborough! Be it good or bad!
- The crowd chatted for a moment and then dispersed.
- Winston felt bored and went to explore the medicine cabinets in the hospital but did not have any good finds.
- It was already nearing noon by the time he looked at the clock.
- He left the hospital and returned home as he was worried about Anna being alone at home.
- To his surprise, Jennifer, who was supposed to be at work, was at home. It was clear that she did not look too good.
- “What happened? Don't you have to work in the afternoon?” Winston asked curiously.
- “It's all Monica's fault!” Jennifer gritted her teeth and said agitatedly, “That despicable person kept making things difficult for me the entire morning. I was so upset that I resigned!”
- Winston furrowed his brows. “I'm sorry, it was all because of me...”
- “All right, stop!” Jennifer waved her hand dismissively and shook her head as if it did not matter. “Don't fret about it! I wanted to quit a long time ago!”
- “How about this? Since we've already secured Argos Tower, you can help plan for Anna's birthday party. I'll help you get a job after this is over!” suggested Winston.
- “I dare not disobey your request, Mr. Coldrell! I'll get it done right away!”
- Jennifer had an impulsive nature and got up to leave immediately.
- “No need to rush. Where is Anna? Is she still asleep?” asked Winston casually.
- “Anna?”
- Jennifer paused for a moment and stopped mid-step.
- “I was about to ask you about it! I didn't see Anna when I came back and thought you brought her out with you.”
- “It can't be!” Winston's chest tightened. He immediately got up and rushed into Anna's room.
- Just as Jennifer had said, Anna was not in her room.
- He then searched the remaining three rooms and could not find Anna. He then thought about what Hugh had said in the hospital, and his face was completely drained of color.
