Chapter 22 Go (Part Two)

• Catherine's eyes opened in surprise as she saw Lucian there. He didn't seem to realize that she was awake, sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at the little baby in the crib.
• "Little Princess," she thought. The baby was still asleep and Lucian didn't take any other action, just gazing at her tenderly.
• His gaze was unfathomable and his thoughts were inscrutable. But the soft expression on his face was something Catherine had never seen before. A bit of sadness filled her heart. She never thought she could have Lucian's child one day, not after he said he would never touch her in this life, and all she could have was the title of Mrs. Landong.
