Chapter 4 Settling the Scores Gradually

  • Inside an incredibly luxurious hospital room, countless high-ranking elites fixed their gazes on the figure half-lying on the bed. Their respectful expressions were tinged with deep concern.
  • Liam looked around and let out a helpless smile. “Why are you all here?”
  • “Master, such a serious matter happened, how could you not inform us?” someone replied.
  • “If anything had happened to you, we could never atone, not even with our deaths!”
  • Everyone nodded in agreement. Each person’s face was marked with genuine sincerity.
  • Without Liam, who had taught and guided them, they would have remained ordinary, unremarkable people. He had given them new life, bringing them to their current glory. Their respect for their master was heartfelt.
  • Suddenly, as if he remembered something, Liam quickly asked, “How is Diana?”
  • Robert immediately stepped forward. “I’ve already examined her. Other than some malnutrition, she’s in no serious danger.”
  • “That’s good.” Liam let out a long breath, but then, a cold glint slowly appeared in his eyes. “Since she’s safe, it’s time to settle the score.”
  • The temperature in the room felt as if it dropped sharply.
  • Then, a figure was thrown onto the floor by Mason—it was the scarred man with the severed arm!
  • At this moment, all the arrogance he had before was gone. Ignoring the pain in his arm, he kneeled down. “Sir, I was wrong! You are a great man. Please, don’t bother with me!”
  • Liam’s gaze was cold as he looked down at him. “Tell me, why did you want to drain my daughter’s blood?”
  • “It wasn’t my idea! I was forced by the Wolfe family!” the scarred man cried.
  • Liam’s expression darkened. “The Wolfe family?”
  • At that moment, Peter spoke up. “The Wolfe family is the most powerful family in Vexane, controlling both the legal and underground worlds. No one in the city can rival them.”
  • The scarred man quickly said, “Yes! I heard that the eldest son in the family's head, Ethan Wolfe, needed the rare blood type to save his life. But it is so rare that even money can’t always buy it!”
  • “Somehow, they found out that your daughter has the blood type, so they tricked your wife into taking out a loan from them. When she couldn’t repay it, they sent us to collect the debt. If she couldn’t pay, we were supposed to take your daughter’s blood as repayment!”
  • A terrifying coldness flashed in Liam’s eyes. They must have a dead wish by using Diana as collateral.
  • Feeling the overwhelming wrath in Liam, all the disciples lowered their heads in respect, not daring to look directly at him.
  • As for the scarred man, he trembled violently. “Sir, I’ve told you everything I know!”
  • “Please, spare me! I’m just a lowly worker. Everything was ordered by Ethan!”
  • Before he could finish speaking, the door to the hospital room was suddenly slammed open. In the next instant, a beast-like bloodthirsty aura filled the air.
  • The scarred man didn’t even have time to react before his head was grabbed. With a low growl, there was a loud crack, and blood sprayed everywhere as his head was twisted clean off.
  • Witnessing such a bloody scene, several people in the room frowned. Robert couldn’t help but speak up, “Henry! It’s enough to kill him, but isn’t this a bit too brutal?”
  • “Bruta?”
  • Henry, covered in blood like a demon from hell, smirked with a bloodthirsty glint in his eyes. “He dared to make our master unhappy. Dying like this is already too easy for him!”
  • “I don’t care what you cowards plan to do, but tonight, there must be bloodshed to wash away the humiliation done to master! If you care too much about your reputation to kill, then I’ll do it myself!”
  • “Henry!” Peter, who knew Henry’s personality all too well, immediately shouted. “Is that how you talk to your fellow seniors?”
  • “Those who insulted our master's family will die tonight, but we only kill those who deserve it! If you dare to start a massacre, don’t blame me for not showing mercy!”
  • “With just you?” Henry’s battle spirit slowly surged. “Peter, don’t you think that I am afraid of you just because you became our master's disciple a few months earlier.”
  • “Let me tell you this! Even if it takes hanging thousands of corpses on the city gates to earn master's satisfaction, I am ready to turn Vexane into a city of death!”
  • “Don't you dare do it!” Peter replied furiously.
  • A general and the head of a mercenary corp, both with thousands of lives on their hands, faced off as their killing intent collided in the room without restraint!
  • “Have you argued enough?” Suddenly, a calm voice interrupted them, and both men froze.
  • Instantly, the intense killing aura vanished into thin air as the two dropped to one knee. “Master, we’re sorry for disturbing your rest!”
  • Seeing the fear on their faces, everyone else in the room couldn’t help but smile. An unreasonable general and a bloodthirsty madman—there was only one person in the world who could make them both feel afraid.
  • The Imperial Master, Liam!
  • A deep, dark look flickered in Liam’s eyes. “Right now, what’s more important than revenge is checking on Diana.”
  • None of the other disciples dared to delay. They quickly fetched a wheelchair for Liam, and Peter pushed him to Diana’s room.
  • Knocking on the door, they entered. Liam’s eyes softened as he gazed at her, sound asleep on the bed.
  • This was his daughter, his legacy. She was the one he would protect and care for all his life.
  • After a long while, his gaze shifted slowly to the exhausted-looking Katherine sitting nearby. Their eyes met, but no words were spoken. A subtle emotion began to spread between them.
  • After what felt like forever, Liam finally spoke softly, “Katherine, I’m sorry for what happened that night.”
  • Katherine tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and quietly replied, “It wasn’t your fault.”
  • Liam fell silent. He knew that Katherine could have left that night, but he had been poisoned by a potent medicine. If it hadn’t been resolved in time, the fire within him could have consumed him entirely, putting his life at risk.
  • Katherine had sacrificed her virginity to save him.
  • Thinking of this, Liam looked at her face, and a hint of affection flickered in his eyes. “I know these past five years have been hard for you.”
  • “All of this is my fault. Since fate has brought us together again, please give me one more chance to take care of you and—”
  • Before he could finish his heartfelt words, the door to the room was rudely shoved open, and a haughty voice suddenly rang out. “Where’s that little bastard’s blood?”
