Chapter 8 Bring You Inside

• It didn't take Jenny long to spot Cassius and Vanessa, who were walking in her direction after she got out of the car.
• She instantly recognized them because she had received word from her family that Johnny Quinton seemed to like Vanessa the most out of all the other women.
• Naturally, she could not accept such an outcome. Stephen is nothing but a subordinate of the Lambert family! Vanessa has no right to compete with me!
• She aggressively stood in front of them and asked disdainfully, “You're Vanessa?”
• Vanessa's expression slid into a frown. “Who are you?”
• “My father is Daniel Lambert, a director of Fourwaters Union. Have you heard of the Lambert family in Horbah?” Jenny replied with a sneer, then rolled her eyes. “Are you here to attend the charity event? Ha! Sorry, but you're not getting in there now that I'm here!”
• She acted all high and mighty because she was extremely confident in herself.
• After all, Vanessa was wearing a very plain-looking dress.
• Jenny walked up to Vanessa and jabbed a finger at her dress as she continued, “There isn't even a logo on that dress. Did you buy it off Amazon or something? A peasant like you can never hope to achieve success in life!”
• Where did this woman come from?
• Cassius stepped in front of Vanessa with a menacing look in his eyes.
• Vanessa quickly tugged at his arm and whispered, “What are you doing? This is their territory! L-Let's just get out of here! We don't even have an invitation, so there's no way we can get in!”
• Although she had lowered her voice, Jenny heard her anyway. “You two plan on entering the venue when you don't even have an invitation? What a joke!”
• Cassius eyed the arrogant woman standing before him from head to toe.
• A dazzling evening dress, a diamond-studded phone case, and a tacky sports car... I've seen countless women like her. They're the vain and boring type!
• Cassius held Vanessa's hand and said with a faint smile, “This woman isn't even worthy of sucking up to you. I told you I'd bring you in there. No one can stop me from doing so.”
• What? Jenny frowned as she retorted, “You must be Cassius, right? You're just a loser who can't even keep your wife by your side! I dare you to say that again, you worthless piece of sh*t! I'll eat sh*t if you manage to get in there!”
• She was so angered by Cassius' words that she gave up on maintaining her image and hurled a ton of profanities at him.
• The wealthy heirs around them, too, laughed at Cassius when they heard that.
• Although Jenny was being outrageous, she did have the financial capabilities to back her up. Cassius, on the other hand, seemed to be as useless as the rumors claimed.
• Cassius couldn't be bothered to argue with her and started leading Vanessa toward the venue.
• “Hey! I'm not done talking to you!” Jenny shouted while tugging at Vanessa's arm, causing the plastic bag containing the dress to tear.
• Swoosh!
• Just like that, the beautiful dress was revealed beneath the bright neon lights for all to see.
• Everyone exclaimed in shock when they saw the hundreds of gemstones on the dress shining brightly.
• “I-Is that Magic Queen from Chanel?”
• “No way! I heard there's only one in the whole world! They say a super-rich guy bought it!”
• “Whoa! That's something I can only dream of having! It's so pretty!”
• Even Jenny froze on the spot.
• Vanessa was a little flustered as she clutched the dress. Jenny's eyes were filled with jealousy as she grabbed at her hair and screamed maniacally, “Wait! Where did you get that dress from? Did you steal it?”
• She refused to believe that Vanessa could afford such a dress.
• Vanessa swallowed hard as she replied, “S-Someone gave it to me!”
• “Looks like I really have underestimated you! Now I see why your husband wouldn't even dare complain about a thing! You found yourself a wealthy sugar daddy, you shameless wh*re!”
• Cassius started walking toward Jenny menacingly.
• She was so intimidated by his gaze that she took a few steps back in response.
• “I gave Vanessa that dress as a gift. It has nothing to do with you, so keep your mouth shut!” Cassius said with a disdainful snort.
• That's impossible! He probably can't even afford a single one of those gems on that dress!
• With all the other heirs staring disdainfully at them, Cassius led Vanessa to the back of the building.
• Vanessa stopped in her tracks and frowned at him as she said, “Don't do that again next time.”
• “Do what?”
• “Lie to people. This dress has nothing to do with you! You may be useless, but you never lied! Don't you think you're being a little vain? You don't have to lie for my sake! I know what you're capable of! I never wanted to put so much pressure on you!”
• Cassius simply shook his head speechlessly and continued dragging her through the back door of the building.
• After calming down, Vanessa glanced at the event hall, which was completely quiet, and asked, “Wait a minute... What are you doing?”
• “What else can I be doing? I'm bringing you into the venue!” Cassius replied with a smile as he walked up to a metal door and placed his finger on it.
• A faint light flashed, and the metal door opened, revealing a private elevator behind it.
• Vanessa went pale when she saw that. “You're seriously going to sneak in there?”
• What's with this elevator, though?
• Cassius led her into the elevator, which had a luxurious carpet flooring, and casually pushed a button. “You really should have a little more faith in me, Darling.”
• Hugh Gunderson, the secretary of Fourwaters Union, was going through a stack of documents when he suddenly stood up.
• His eyes went wide with shock as he whipped out his phone and stared at the signal on the screen.
• The special elevator has been activated!
• Hugh dropped his documents, turned around, and ran out the door.
• He knew all too well who that elevator was made for.
• Only one person from Fourwaters Union is able to activate that elevator! Even Mr. Zimmerman can't do it! That man is finally here!
• The private elevator soon arrived at the top floor.
• Vanessa was feeling extremely uneasy at that point. “Have you lost your mind, Cassius? I can't believe you'd dare hack into the elevator of Fourwaters Union!”
• Cassius chuckled in amusement when he saw her adorable reaction. “See? A gamer can be useful, after all!”
• He's actually getting smug with me? Unbelievable! We'll be in deep trouble if someone catches us!
• Vanessa bit her lip at the thought of that. At this point, she could only try her best to go with the flow.
• Her slender legs trembled uncontrollably as she got on her tiptoes, grabbed Cassius by the hand, and started making a run for it.
• She even secretly glanced about to see if there were any surveillance cameras as she ran.
• Cassius had a helpless look on his face as he ran along with her.
• The two had just passed through a corridor when they bumped into Hugh, who was standing there waiting.
