Chapter 45

• DANIEL'S POV.
• I sat alone at the mini bar, my eyes fixed on the distant horizon where the waves crashed against the sandy shore. The sun had begun its descent, casting a warm golden glow over the beach house that Jessica and I had been staying for three days—in for our honeymoon. But my mind was preoccupied, my thoughts consumed by Jessica and all they things she'd been making me feel. I couldn't understand how easily she'd gone from being O attractive, to being the object of all my desires. I knew I was being cheesy, but that was just the truth. There wasn't a day that passed that I didn't think of her. And now the thought that was plaguing me was the guy we had met at the cafe before embarking on this trip, Alex. I'd overhead her talking to him on the phone, and from what she was saying, he had touched down Hawaii yesterday and wanted to see her.
• I knew it wasn't my business, but I defended my jealousy with the fact that we were supposed to act like a real couple throughout this vacation.
