Chapter 5 Jail!

• Today was a meeting of the shareholders because of the arrival of the new CEO and I was listening to everything they were saying, but they were talking about weird things and it didn't make any sense to me.
• “How are you sara?” A shareholder who was sitting next to me asked and touched my waist from behind. I could feel myself starting to panic, I didn't want to sit here, he always tried to take advantage of me and he thought his hands had every right to.
• “I am okay, thank you sir.” I replied and removed his hand, but he just smiled at me. I felt his hand in my hair and everyone was looking at me, they were all like him and so I again politely removed his hand. The door opened and suddenly Daniel walked in, surprising everyone. I had heard that he refused to come to the meeting, saying that he had no time for such useless things, but here he was and no one was expecting him.
• He stood in the room and our eyes immediately found each other, but he glared angrily at me, as if I had committed some crime. He was looking at the shareholders hand which had returned to my hair and I saw hate and anger flash in his eyes. He must have thought that I was an easy woman, but I wasn't and only lowered my eyes, knowing there was nothing I could do about it. He moved towards his chair, all the time glaring at me, but I also saw that as soon as he entered the room all the shareholders stood up from their seats and bowed their heads to him.
• I was terrified to see them like this, especially as I was now the only one still sitting down. I didn't know that they would get up and bow to him, they all looked like pet dogs the way they bowed and begged for his praise. The man in front of me didn't seem like the CEO of the company, but rather a very dangerous man and upon seeing the others bowing I got up from my seat and bowed my head as well. I looked up after I did this and saw that it had only made Daniel irritable.
• I didn't understand that it was normal for everyone to bow down to him, but he seemed to be annoyed with the fact that I was also bowing my head to him. I couldn't understand if he was annoyed with the fact that I hadn't done it straight away or if I was doing it wrong, so I just stood there and Daniel took his place at the head of the table, followed by everyone else.
• “Sorry sir, we were not expecting you to come.” One of the shareholders said and as I looked around at each of their faces I saw that everyone here was scared, as if they had made a mistake.
• “I wasnt coming here and that's why you guys took advantage of this and started scamming the company behind my back,” Daniel replied in a slow tone while looking at his watch. As soon as I heard the word scamming, my eyes widened in fear because I am sitting here in the middle of these people. My boss had suddenly ordered me to come here to the shareholders meeting and take notes on everything that was happening here. Despite it not being my job I had to come here and now I know why I felt like something was wrong because of my boss, I have now joined this scam by coming here.
• I looked at the faces of the shareholders and saw that they were all in a panic, they were trembling in fear and bowing their heads and this only proved that they were really scamming the company. My whole body became cold when I saw this and I looked directly at Daniel, who looked very angry. If he thought that I was also involved in this then I could lose my job and i didnt want to lose this job, but no one would believe me if I told them I was innocent. I felt like I was going to cry at any moment, but I managed to hold my tears back.
• “Every person present in this meeting will pay for this crime and will be going to jail.” Daniel said and I couldn't hold back my tears anymore after hearing that I was going to go to jail for a crime I didn't commit or know anything about. A few seconds after Daniel had made this announcement the police came in and started to drag the shareholders away one by one. A policeman was walking towards me and I closed my eyes in fear. What will I do now? How can I prove my innocence? Dad and Lucy wont help me.
• “I will handle her. You guys can go now.” Daniel said, making me open my eyes and saw that the policeman was standing in front of me. The policemen left and I was still sitting there, thanking god for not letting me be arrested, but why didn't he send me to jail? He said everyone present in this room would be going to jail. What does he want from me? Daniel stood up from his seat and walked towards the door. This made no sense and I didn't understand it.
• “If you don't want to go to jail, then I suggest you follow me.” Daniel said, walking out the door. As soon as I heard him mention the word jail again my throat became dry and I quickly stood up and started running after him. Everyone was looking at us and I noticed Olivia, but she wasn't looking very happy to see me following Daniel. I saw that Daniel was heading to his office and I was scared to be alone with him inside that room, the incident from a few hours ago was still fresh in my mind. Someone kissed me in the store room and the fear of being raped was at the forefront of my mind, but I still don't know why I was sure that it was Daniel. I looked and saw that Daniel was standing in the doorway to his office and was looking back at me, waiting for me to enter.
