• Veronica held her breath as she tried to refrain herself from panting. She had just overheard Shawn questioning Jojo outside the door, and it was evident he had suspicions. If Shawn learned that Jojo was the woman from the other night, Veronica's chances of becoming Mrs. Lawson would be shattered.
• "Say something, Jojo," Veronica urged.
• "Yes," Jojo nodded, her voice steady. She continued despite not understanding Veronica's motives for speaking up. "She's telling the truth, every word of it."
