Chapter 29 To Succeed Is To Be Ambitious

• Dad always said that to win the game of chess, you have to protect the King with your other pieces. When the only way to protect is to run, then it's impossible to win the game anymore. 
• I would always ponder his quotes when I was young. Thinking that, what if dad meant something far deeper than that. I, too, want to know. I would always play with him to receive some advice whenever I got bullied at school because of my low confidence at speaking on oral recitations.
• He said that I just have to succeed, and to succeed begins at being ambitious enough to pursue that success. I loved it. The sentence morphed within me. My flesh, my soul. It became a sanctuary when I don't know what I'm doing anymore.
