Chapter 7 Mare

• Third-Person POV
• The Black Moon Pack is the strongest Pack in the wolf world, and the Pack is evenly matched with the Double Moon Pack. Alpha Wolfe is the Leader of all the Packs, and he visits other packs every year to inspect them and learn about the situation.
• “The wolfsbane will weaken her.” He turned to face Maya, who now had a sinister wide smile on.of other Packs.
• When he inspected the Double Moon Pack, he smelled a strong scent in the crowd, the scent of a mate. His wolf howled softly to remind him that this Pack had their mate, but Wolfe didn't like Double Moon Pack because the Alpha of this Pack is Arthur. Wolfe knows that Arthur is too ambitious and often made small bad moves in private, and he knew that Arthur must have had a premeditated plan to have invited him here.
• Luckily, Julia's parents and sister also came to the banquet that night after the awakening ceremony. When Maya heard that the Alpha of the black moon pack will be present so she had asked Arthur to give their family comfort and opportunity because their family offered Julia in exchange for the relationship between the pack and the alpha king pack, So he must give them some compensation, let them also participate in the banquet, and he can send Julia to leave for the black moon pack. Maya has always wanted to find opportunities to get close to alpha Wolfe, so she's using her sisters as an exchange and ladder to getting close to alpha Wolfe.
• A wide smile plastered on Maya's face as she sat down with pride, anticipating the arrival of the alpha king. This is her only opportunity, and she is going to utilize it. Nothing can stop her from being the Luna of the black moon pack.
• Maya was well-dressed and looked beautiful. She let her long hair fall freely on her shoulder, her face was covered with makeup, and she was wearing a long royal blue ball dress that clung to her body perfectly. She looked more like a princess tonight.
• She quickly drops her drink on a table when she notices the loud cheer from the crowd as they all struggle to have a better view of the person coming, then she realizes that it was only one person that can move the crowd with his presence and that person is Alpha Wolfe. So many people have heard about his reign as a great alpha, and they all feared and respected him, but many have never seen him, including Maya.
• “The Alpha king is here.” Someone announced with a scream that filled the entire place.
• Maya heaved in a deep breath, adjusting herself. “Using Julia as the source to get here is not a bad idea anyway.” She mumbled under her breath.
• Alpha Wolfe walked past the crowd as his aura of power filled the air, everyone struggling to have a better view of him when suddenly he stopped. His nose caught the strong scent that made his wolf howl inside him. He looked through the crowd searching for the person who carried such a scent, the smell of his mate, and his eyes landed on Maya who was standing a few meters away from him.
• Maya felt all her body system pause for a while as her eyes fixed on the most perfect being she has ever seen. Pictures did not do much justice to his appearance because seeing him face to face, he looked more like a semi-god. His tall figure was noticed around the crowd and his thick black long hair was neatly packed on his head. He had that appearance which made him stand out in the crowd.
• Maya blinks her eyes back to life repeatedly when she notices that she had taken forever studying his well-perfect feature.
• She managed to move her legs from the floor as she found herself walking towards him. She needed to get close to him, her main purpose of being here.
• "Hi.” She muttered and gave him a light bright smile the moment she was close to him, while she secretly pinches herself lightly so she won't get nervous. Not everyone can get the opportunity to speak with the great Alpha.
• Immediately Wolfe smelled her scent, his wolf started to react, perceiving the scent of their mate again, this time it is stronger and more toxic than before.
• In a reflex action, he pulled her closer to himself and whispered the word “Mate.” close to her ear.
• Maya was taken aback by his sudden action and confession if truly they are mates she was supposed to feel the same connection of a true mate after perceiving his scent, but she felt nothing for him which tells that they're not mates, but this is her perfect opportunity, and she is not going to blow it off.
• “Mate.” She called softly to him, and just that one word made his wolf howl the more. He has found his mate.
• Maya gave him a light fake smile when she didn't even feel any mate bond between them.
• “Should I show you around?” Maya smiled, breaking the silence between them as she stared at his fine golden eyes.
• “Oh, you're here. Welcome to Double Moon Pack.” Arthur came out from the crowd welcoming Aiden Wolfe while Maya rolled her eyes at him for interrupting such a pleasant time with the Alpha king.
• “I am honored to meet an angel like her.” he turns to face Maya.
• “Please come over here, a seat is prepared for you.” Arthur directed him to a special seat provided for him. He's the Alpha of all the wolf clan, so this is not the first time he will be receiving such nice treatment and respect.
• “Arthur, why did you invite me specially for this year's bouquet? I know there is something you haven't told me,” Wolfe told Arthur immediately as Maya left to get something.
• “What about your brother and your beta?” Arthur moves his question to the point that matters, that will enable him to tell him what he has to say.
• “He's sick, and my beta is watching over him”
• “Really?” Arthur murmurs he knew about Wolfe's brothers' sickness; he is being a maniac again.
• “I have a stealer in our pack, she can be mated to your brother and stop him from going insane again.” Arthur suggested like he is trying to be of help to him.
• “And then what…?” He sips a little portion of his drink, and he turns to face Arthur. He knows the kind of person he is, a man with his own interior motive.
• “Then you can give me a part of your territory, and she will…"
• “Enough. We don't need a stealer!” Wolfe, half yelled rejecting his offer immediately, he knew his offer can't be of any good.
• “You will also benefit from this. You have to accept her for the sake of your brother; she can be mated with any lost spouse werewolf. She can be sacrificed to your brother with her, your brother can be fine again.” Arthur keeps persuading him. He knew how much Wolfe loved his brother, and he would accept anything just to make him fine.
• Wolfe was a little shaken on the inside; he wanted his brother to be fine but not through someone like Arthur he knew him too well; he has always wanted to be the Alpha King, the strongest of all the wolf clan.
• “Come with me, let me show you where she is.” Arthur further said, while Wolfe raised and followed him.
• Seeing the stealer won't cause any harm.
• Other activities are already going on, so most of the people's attention is already divided away from him.
• Arthur mind linked Maya, and she followed them to the prison where Julia was kept.
• Immediately they got to the entrance of the place where she was locked up like a prisoner. The door to the room flung open and Julia slowly sat upright on the cold hard floor she had been laying on. Her once beautiful brunette hair is now scattered on her head, covering some part of her beautiful face. She felt so weak and tired she hasn't eaten anything since she was brought here and her throat felt sour because she hasn't taken water, her lips tested so dry. The few hours she spent here was like hell to her and the wolfsbane injected on her makes her look sick.
• She is even too weak to notice the number of people standing at the entrance of her now supposed room.
• Wolfe's lips parted in amusement as he beholds the beauty before him. Even in her worst condition she is looking perfect and pretty, his hand folded in a fist, getting angry at how she was been treated here like an animal.
• “Come in.” Arthur whispered to him, and he took the lead, while Wolfe followed him next and Maya followed last.
• The more they walk closer to her, the stronger the strange feelings he is having for her increase, and he could feel his wolf panicking and howling inside him as he perceives her scent.
• "Mate.” his wolf groaned.
• Julia managed to lift her head as she inhaled more of his scent and her body reacted in a kind of way it has never done before, she heard a vague voice inside her that said “Mate.” The connection between them was very intense and real.
• Maya, who was close to them, heard Wolfe's wolf call out to Julia as his mate.
• She immediately realized that it must be because Julia's scent had lingered on her from her visit earlier that day before the arrival of Wolfe was the main reason why he had called her mate the moment he saw her was because she was carrying Julia's scent. It all made sense now.
• Instantly it dwelled on her that Alpha Wolfe mate should be her sister, not her. Immediately she realized this and had seen the connection between Julia and Wolfe, she quickly rushed to him, not willing to give her sister the position she has always wished, to be his Luna.
• “She's my sister, so our scent is similar.” Maya explained to him in a rush, blocking him from going closer to Julia. This is her only best opportunity to get what she wants; she can't let her sister ruin it.
• Wolfe remains speechless and confused as he watches the lady before him, he could feel the connection between them, but then it dwells on him again that she has the identity of a stealer so she could be mated to any lone wolf.
• He turned to face Arthur, “I don't need a fucking stealer from you.” He groaned angrily at Arthur before he marched towards the door, ready to leave the pack as soon as possible.
• “Your brother needs her, or did you want him to turn rogue?” He questioned his brow furrowed as he watched the angry Alpha stop on his track, immediately the word “rogue” reminded him of what might happen to his brother and this is what he feared the most. He remembered what the pack doctor told him about finding a mate for his brother before his case worsened.
• Turning into a rogue is the last thing he wanted for Jeffrey.
• “Okay, fine, I accept your offer.” He turns around. “And I am taking my mate also along with me.” he points his finger at Maya, whose face has now turned tomato red.
• Finally, her plans are working as expected, and she will soon be the Luna of a great pack and respected by all. What else could a lady ask for if not power?
• Without wasting much time, Wolfe left Double Moon Pack with Julia who was so weak that she was unconscious, and he also took Maya along with him to his pack.
