Chapter 3
- BELLA'S POV
- "Whose home is this?!" I ask in amazement as the three giants lead me towards an exquisite, mansion house designed like a palace.
- I am to be a slave for the rest of my life, but since I willingly agreed to be sold as one, I am not fighting the men that were sent to bring me here.
- From the way they talk, I have learned that one is the beta to the Alpha of thi kingdom. The others address him with a lot of respect and he is the most talkative.
- He is however very cruel towards me. I think his rudeness is meant to acquaint me to my new status, a slave for life!
- I don't plan on never seeing Skylar again. If I phase, I will run away the next day.
- "Welcome to Grey Wolves Pack House!" One of the other two men answers with a smile.
- "I will be working as a maid in the pack house?!" I exclaim in disbelief. I really wouldn't mind working in such a lovely house. There will be probably too many of us that the work will be minimal.
- "With a face like yours, we have a more important job for you." The beta answers.
- More important job? What important task is ever assigned to a slave? Hopefully it's not to please some guy because I would puke!
- I can already see a number of uniformed workers around the beautiful gardens surrounding the house. Every one of them is so engrossed in their work that they seem not to notice anything around them.
- Then I notice the men in grey uniform supervising the working slaves. A shiver runs down my spine at the sight of the lether whips in their hands.
- I knew that being a slave would be horrible, but this is worse than anything I have ever imagined.
- "Do those guards have to carry the whips to supervise those workers?" I ask, feeling my stomach churn with fear.
- "They are not workers, they are slaves! Yes, they need a little motivation in order to work better!" The beta answers.
- Being whipped is a form of motivation? This people must be crazy!
- None of the slaves look up when we walk past them. The guards with whips casts me curious glances. I wonder why because I am in an old, worn out dress which is also buggy. There is no way I can be pleasing to look at.
- I stop to watch the working slaves, none dares look up, they are like working robots.
- The beta takes hold of my arm and drags me inside the house. The interior is uniquely designed, almost everything is grey; the walls, carpet and even the furniture.
- We walk past more slaves working around the house, the place is sparkling clean.
- The guards with whips are few here, yet the slaves walk around with their heads bowed, none daring to look up at us.
- We finally stop in front of a heavy door with beautiful engravings on it. The other two men stand back as the better approaches the door and knocks lightly.
- "Bow your head!" He orders. I grudgingly lower my gaze to the floor.
- When the door opens, a lady in a short, red dress stands behind it. I can't see her face because my head is bowed.
- "My! Oh! My! That's her?!" The woman exclaims, sounding astounded. Even if I can't look up at her face, I can feel her eyes on me.
- "Yes, doesn't she look exactly like Angel Asher Nellie?" The beta replies.
- I have heard that name before, but can't remember clearly whose it was. Mother mentioned it some months ago while talking about a lucky girl mated to the famous Prince of Scorpion kingdom, the most powerful pack angel.
- There is so much exaggerated rumors about the man that one don't know what to believe. Some say he is to live for a millennia, others say he is immortal, that even if you kill him, he would come back to life after another millennia! Who would believe such crap?
- "She looks like a perfect copy! Let's show her to His Majesty." The lady says before grabbing my hand and pulling me inside the lavishly furnished room. The beta follows.
- A gigantic man with long, brown hair and well trimmed beard sits on a coach, drinking some clear liquid that is probably alcohol.
- Since he is seated, I can see his face even with my head bowed. His frigid gaze lands on my face and he suddenly rises.
- My body quivers as he marches towards me. His huge hand grabs the hair on top of my head and jerks my head up. I gasp in pain.
- His icy glare lands on my face and my feet tremble. He uses my hair to move my head, scrutinizing my face as if looking for something.
- "Are you sure you didn't kidnap the real Usher Nellie?" He asks the beta as a smile curves on his face.
- "No, Alpha! The girl is from a very poor home. Like I told you, she sold herself to save her sick, little brother." The beta answers.
- "Then how could she look exactly like Angel Nellie?" He question, letting go of my hair. I reach a hand up to the spot his hand had left as I feel like he has ripped off my hair. I am relieved to feel the strands of my hair are still are attached to my head.
- "Not that I am complaining, I am simply dazzled!" The Alpha says, his eyes studying the rest of my body. "Even the Prince will not tell the difference!"
- "Yes, but he is now in Silver Moon Kingdom. We should use the opportunity to get our girl in the palace. Because even if Prince Hayden can't tell the facial difference between the two, he knows the smell of his mate. I advise that we do this before he is back from the Silver Moon celebrations." The Beta says.
- "You have quite the brains!" The Alpha compliments. "Glad to have you by my side!"
- "I told you I don't like compliments!" The Beta snaps.
- "That's why I keep on complementing you. Because otherwise you will keep smiling and I hate your smile!" The Alpha answers, the two men chuckle.
- "Should I get the girl cleaned up?" The woman asks.
- "Yes, dress her in an elegant dress and jewels. After that, bring her back here so we can discuss her mission." The Alpha orders.
- Discuss my mission? So I ain't working here as a slave? None of the other slaves were dressed in elegant dresses or jewels. What does this people plan to do with me?
