Chapter 27

• Summer
• I woke with a start. My clothes stuck to my clothes from sweat. My hair was damp and my limbs ached. The last thing I remembered was falling asleep in Ezra’s arms. The room was dark but there was no way it was still night-time. I pushed the heavy covers aside. I was alone in the massive king-sized bed. I tiptoed to the curtains and pushed them aside.
• Dark grey clouds blanketed the sky, hiding the sun. I was at Ezra’s mansion but where was he? That was when I heard water running in the bathroom.
