Chapter 62 Scare Of Our Lives

  • Giving Elio his sponge bath was the highlight of my days as the week progressed along with spending some time with my mother. It was the only time where no one else occupied the room, leaving me with Elio to take care of him. It brought some light back in me. If anyone walked in they would label me crazy because the whole process was spent with me just talking his ear off or singing to him, hoping my terrible singing would wake him up.
  • I realized just then that he was my best friend and not being able to hear his voice over the days tore me apart. I refrained from telling him about my mother and siblings because I wanted to do it when I could stare in his eyes and see him excited for me. In a span of three days I had learned so much about my mother’s life and culture. She taught me so many things and I could not wait to have cooking dates with her which we put a pin on because she and my siblings were leaving in a day. It saddened me but surely Elio and I would visit whenever we could.
  • Snooze was playing as I cleaned his feet, no part of him left unattended. I ran the cloth over his big toe and it looked so good. He had clean and neat nails which was not a shocker because Elio was kind of a neat freak. I could remember the day he cleaned his house in his sweatpants hanging low on his waist. I shook my head, not believing I lived through that. I walked to empty the dish in the bathroom and cleaned it. I rinsed his washcloth and hung it before I walked to the closet where I picked up his toiletries and walked back to the room. I placed everything down on the side table then pulled out all his face products. Elio would wake up to new and glowing skin. Him being unconscious meant he couldn’t object to my six-step skincare routine. I loved it so much. The masks really did good on his skin. I applied all I needed, putting toner, some eye cream, serum, and moisturizer then his lip cream. His lashes were long and curled up. I ran my lash brush over them to comb them out. His skin was smooth as if he had no pores at all. Ofcourse, I was jealous. When his face was done, I poured moisturizer on my palm and glazed it over his body.
