Chapter 3 I Only Acknowledge Her As Luna!
- Vincent Evans' POV
- "Did you find anything?" I asked lazily from my spot on the sofa, lifting my eyes to my assistant.
- "Yes, Alpha. The girl from the private club five years ago has just sold the watch you left her at a second-hand market," he reported respectfully.
- After five years of searching, finally having news about her lifted my spirits a little.
- "Hey! Buddy! We're going to be with that girl soon!" Adam, my wolf, was buzzing with excitement inside me.
- "Of course, she's the one you identified as our destined mate. From now on, I won't allow her to leave my side!" I smiled and told Adam.
- Then, my mind drifted back to that night ...
- Five years ago, I was poisoned by a rival competing for the Alpha King position and ended up hiding in a private yacht, taking the place of the witch's descendant.
- When the aphrodisiac set my body on fire, Adam caught a whiff of a tantalizing scent at the door of the suite.
- "It's our mate! I need to be close to her immediately!" he went wild inside me. Following his instinct, I opened the door. Although I couldn't see her face in the darkness, I lost control and took her.
- Fortunately, that girl used her body to detoxify me. Her scent was so sweet!
- Unfortunately, the situation was urgent, and I had to leave early, leaving only a watch as a token ...
- "Alpha, what should we do?" My assistant's voice pulled me back to the present.
- "Find her!" I commanded.
- ...
- "Vincent, you must marry Chloe, the eldest daughter of the Thunder Pack's Alpha. I only acknowledge her as Luna!" My grandmother's voice suddenly echoed in my mind.
- The girl named Chloe was cast out by her father, the Thunder Pack Alpha, five years ago.
- A former Alpha heir without a wolf, she had somehow managed to survive as a rogue.
- Recently, under my grandmother's urging, I, as Alpha King, revoked the decree of the Thunder Pack's Alpha and allowed her to return to the pack.
- I was curious to see her when she came back ...
- Lost in thought, my phone rang. I answered, "Hello?"
- "Alpha, we found the girl. Her name is Shania, and the watch was traded by her."
- "Give me her address. I'll go find her." I was thrilled. My destined mate had finally appeared—I had to find her and make up for that night.
- I followed my assistant into the boutique.
- "Are you Shania?" I immediately spotted the petite woman in front of me, eager to find the shadow of the girl from five years ago.
- But after examining her closely, I couldn't be certain.
- "I-I am! Are you the Alpha King?!" She recognized my identity, staring at me with a mix of awe and nervousness, her voice respectful but stammering.
- I pulled out a watch from my pocket and held it out to her, my voice low as I asked, "This watch—has it been in your possession all this time?"
- Shania glanced at the watch in my hand and instantly shrank back, blinking nervously. "Yes, this watch … it's mine."
- "Five years ago, in the Royal private yacht's second-floor suite, were you the woman there?" I stared at the girl in front of me, stunned. Could it really have been her that night?
- She boldly met my gaze and answered directly, "Alpha, it was me."
- I woke Adam, who had been dormant for days, and asked him, "Is this girl truly our destined mate?"
- Adam answered my doubts through his actions. He stirred inside me with a fierce restlessness. "It's her! Her scent is intoxicating! Get close to her now!"
- But deep down, I couldn't shake a lingering discomfort. Something about her didn't evoke the same peace and certainty I had felt that night.
- Adam was too exhilarated to give me room for doubt, urging me relentlessly to get closer to her.
- Maybe it was just that five years had changed her so much.
- "Keep this watch safe. Don't try selling it again. I'll make sure you're compensated for what happened that night," I said, suppressing my usual coldness and Alpha King authority. Stepping forward, I gently placed the watch in her hand. "Remember my name. I'm Vincent Evans."
- "I-I recognize you. You're the most powerful Alpha King on this continent. I've heard of you!" She kept staring at me, looking like she was on the verge of fainting from excitement.
- Noticing the Beta women nearby, bowing respectfully to me but still sneaking glances in my direction, I quickly understood what was going on.
- Ever since I was young, my striking looks combined with my rise to Alpha King had earned me a certain reputation. My assistant had told me that many female werewolves in packs across the continent fantasized about becoming my Luna.
- But all of my love was reserved only for my destined mate.
- Now, I had finally found her.
- "You are my destined mate. From now on, I'll take care of you. I won't let you leave my side again," I promised as I pulled Shania into a gentle embrace, pushing aside that nagging discomfort and vowing to be as tender as I could.
