Liam sat down on a chair placed by the patient's bedside. His gaze filled with hurt and pain, lingered on Isabelle's almost lifeless body. He felt vulnerable knowing he could do nothing to wake her up. All he could do was make the people responsible for her situation, pay for their crimes.
He traced her forehead, down to her jawlines, feeling the smoothness of her skin in his touch, a small smile curved on his lips as his mind wandered back to their date. Even though it was ruined, he still enjoyed the time they both spent.
