Chapter 4 The Welcome-Back Party
- Jessie was taken aback to see Noah there, accompanied by Rhonda. Feeling threatened, Jessie immediately pulled Jasmine to the other side, determined to stop them from meeting.
- "We should find another place, Jasmine," Jessie suggested.
- Fortunately, Jasmine quickly regained her composure, and the suffocating feeling disappeared. She smiled and asked, "Why should we leave? This place is nice."
- Ignoring Jessie's objection, Jasmine headed towards the dance floor.
- She went straight to the centre stage of the dance floor.
- As a stunning beauty, she immediately caught the attention of the crowd as they whistled at her from below the stage. Jasmine smiled and shook her hair, enjoying the admiring gazes.
- When she caught the eye of the man across from her, she felt an exhilarating tremor throughout her body.
- Jasmine seductively smiled at Noah.
- ...
- Noah's body tensed.
- Damn it. Jasmine's smile stirred up something in me.
- He could only attribute it to muscle memory. After all, they had shared the same bed for five years.
- Why would Jasmine come here?
- Could it be that she's here to pick up more men?
- As Noah thought of this, his face darkened.
- He had never been fond of places like this. The first time he came was because his friend had forced him to, and the second time was because Rhonda suggested holding a welcome-back party for her return.
- And both times, he ran into Jasmine.
- Is this what they called a fated encounter?
- "Noah?" Rhonda spoke up, but Noah continued to stare at the stage without blinking.
- She followed his gaze and saw the girl on the stage, shining brightly and captivating everyone with every move she made.
- Rhonda tightened her grip on the wine glass and softly said, "What a coincidence, meeting her here."
- "Noah, she's Jasmine, right? She's really beautiful," she added, noticing the resemblance between them.
- Noah furrowed his brows.
- "We have no relationship anymore."
- Rhonda reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist, feeling a bit hurt. "Noah, I don't mind how many people you've been with. I know that you will always love me the most. It was my fault before, but now that I'm back, I just hope that we can be together ... "
- Noah calmly broke free from her embrace.
- "That's all in the past now."
- Rhonda looked slightly disappointed.
- "You still won't forgive me."
- Noah didn't answer and changed the subject.
- "Liam and the others are here. Today, everyone is hosting a welcome-back party for you. Let's not mention those unhappy things anymore."
- As Liam Hurst and the others entered the venue, their attention was immediately drawn to the energetic dance performance on stage. Upon closer inspection, they realised that it was Jasmine.
- Liam looked at the stage in shock, then at the expressionless Noah.
- "You actually let her come out? Normally, you keep your little lover hidden away, not even letting us, your old friends, catch a glimpse ... "
- Noah's tone turned cold.
- "Don't speak nonsense. Jasmine and I have already ended things."
- Almost everyone present had grown up together, and they all came from prominent families. Having a sugar baby was nothing unusual for them.
- However, Noah had always been virtuous and upright. The fact that he had that sort of relationship with Jasmine had caused quite a stir in their circle.
- Liam glanced at the gloomy-faced Rhonda and instantly understood.
- His gaze lingered on the stage, and the more he looked, the more he felt that this woman was simply enchanting. He couldn't help but blurt out, "Since you've broken up with Jasmine, can I pursue her then? I'm quite interested in her—"
- Before he could finish his sentence, Liam felt Noah's piercing gaze, causing him to immediately swallow the rest of his words.
- "You've broken up. Why are you still acting like you're protecting your precious possession?"
- Noah picked up his glass and took a sip, his expression dark.
- Jasmine stepped down from the stage.
- After the commotion just now, she had become the centre of attention in the entire venue. Wherever she went, people would approach her. Jessie just wanted to quickly pull her away from this chaotic scene.
- Jasmine shook off her hand, puzzled by Jessie's frightened appearance.
- "I'm going to the restroom to touch up my makeup. I'll be back later."
- Jessie was helpless.
- If Karl found out that she had brought Jasmine to the nightclub and that they had even encountered Noah, he would kill her!
- ...
- Jasmine touched up her makeup, and as she came out of the restroom, a hand rested on her shoulder.
- "Hey, beautiful. Are you here alone? You dance pretty well. Let's have some fun together."
- Jasmine turned her face and smiled mischievously, saying, "If you want to keep that arm of yours, you'd better let go."
- She was not an easy target. She had practiced martial arts since she was young, and dealing with seven or eight men was a piece of cake for her.
- "Oh, you're fiesty! That's how I like my women!"
- The sleazy man's hand began to move downwards as he looked at her with a lecherous glint in his eyes. Just as Jasmine was about to take action, a hand with distinct knuckles reached out and grabbed the sleazy man by the collar, throwing him against the wall with a loud thud.
