Chapter 7 Prison Disaster
- Although Artemis narrowly escaped a disaster, she remained in a vegetative state. The doctor explained that Artemis had lost a significant amount of blood and sustained serious injuries, indicating that she might not regain consciousness in the near future.
- Sandra was confined to the ward for an entire afternoon.
- She was expecting Hendrick, but the police came instead. Hendrick accused her of attempted murder.
- Even when Sandra was first imprisoned, she held onto the hope that Artemis would awaken and reveal the truth to Hendrick. Perhaps, Hendrick would have a change of heart and realize his mistake, coming to her rescue.
- Despite knowing Hendrick's animosity towards her, she couldn't fathom that he would be so ruthless as to have her imprisoned. She waited.
- But what came instead was something else.
- Late into the night, the prison cell door creaked open. Several women barged in and forcibly dragged Sandra out. Sandra resisted in fear. "Who are you? Let me go," she pleaded.
- Ignoring her protests, the women dragged her into a small room. Inside, there was a pool filled with water.
- Anxiously, Sandra inquired, "What do you intend to do—" Before she could finish her sentence, her head was plunged underwater. Caught off guard, Sandra choked on the water.
- Just as she felt herself suffocating, her head was yanked back up. Before she could speak, her head was thrust back into the water. This time, she was pulled out after losing consciousness from the choking.
- The leader of the women slapped Sandra repeatedly, and upon regaining consciousness, she was kicked harshly.
- Sandra's eyes reflected defiance as she questioned, "I have no quarrel with you. Why are you treating me this way?"
- Laughter echoed among the group.
- "Someone has requested special treatment for you," one of them disclosed.
- Upon hearing this, Sandra's heart sank. Her initial suspicion was Natalie.
- However, the person continued, "If Mr. Nights requests for your demise, how long do you think you can survive?"
- "It's impossible," Sandra protested, tears streaming down her face. "It can't be him. You're lying."
- "Believe what you will." With those words, the person instructed the others, "Proceed."
- One of them brandished a knife and advanced toward Sandra. Sandra cried out for help and attempted to flee, but she was seized by the hair and pulled back.
- She was pinned to the ground. "Your fate is no longer in your hands once you're here."
- Terrified, Sandra gazed at the knife in the person's hand and almost pleaded as she shook her head, "Please, no, don't."
- With a smirk, the person raised the knife and aimed it at Sandra's face. She ducked, and the blade grazed her forehead. Enraged, the person struck again. Sandra turned her head, feeling the skin split on her chin.
- "How dare you dodge!" the person seethed. Grabbing her hair, she roughly sheared Sandra's once lustrous locks in a haphazard manner.
- Having had their fill, they tossed her back into the cell. Sandra lay on the floor, bloodied, despair and anguish etched on her face. Hendrick, why didn't you end my life? Hendrick, why keep me alive, only to wish for death!
- For an entire month, they tormented her under the cover of night, relentless in their cruelty. They subjected Sandra to a high-pressure water gun, the forceful streams piercing her body.
- On rainy days, they exposed her to the elements, leaving her feverish and unmedicated, forcing her to toil.
- They confined her in the toilet, deprived her of sustenance and hydration, and lashed her, reveling in her pleas for mercy. They refused to provide her with regular prison meals, only allowing her to consume spoiled food...
- Feeling completely hopeless, Sandra finally, after being thrown back into the cell by those individuals, used a knife she had secretly obtained to cut her wrist.
- As the blood gradually drained from her body, she realized she would not live to witness Hendrick's remorse. Finally, a sweet release…
