Chapter 5 Artemis Is Waking Up

  • Seeing no reaction on Hendrick's face, Natalie walked up and said with a somewhat mournful voice, "Sandy, although Hendri doesn't say it, I know he has always been worried about you. But how could you do such a thing with his cousin just to get back at him? This is just… just…"
  • Sandra endured the pain from her wounds and scolded, "Shut up and stop distorting the story. It was Benson..."
  • Benson stepped forward, interrupted Sandra, and pointed at her face, shouting, "Sandra, don't wrongly accuse me. I clearly rejected you when I saw the injuries on your body. You said you couldn't bear to see Hendri with Natalie, so even if it meant death, you would f*ck me to make Hendri suffer. Hendri, believe me, if she didn't take the initiative, I wouldn't dare touch your woman. I don't have the guts."
  • Hendrick said coldly, "Make me suffer? Huh, she's not even worthy."
  • Sandra wanted to explain, but upon hearing this, her heart seemed to freeze instantly. The pain in her body, like needles piercing her bones, was nothing compared to the pain of those words.
  • Natalie turned around and grabbed Hendrick's wrist, tears streaming down her delicate face. "Hendri, don't say that. Sandy was just confused for a moment, it's all my fault. If it weren't for me, Sandy wouldn't be mad at you like this. It's my fault, Hendri, please forgive her. Please don't blame her."
  • Sandra was really fed up with this group of drama queens acting, and she gritted her teeth. "Natalie, I don't want your fake sympathy. Get out of here."
  • Hendrick casually put his arm around Natalie's shoulder, looking at Sandra with a wicked gaze. "When it comes to fake sympathy, who can compare to you? Saying one thing and doing another. You are double-faced and despicable to the extreme."
  • Sandra closed her eyes. How ridiculous. I worked my butt off to maintain this relationship, and what do I get? This is just laughable.
  • Natalie shook his head at Hendrick, "No, Hendri, I grew up with Sandy. I understand her, she is not that kind of person, there must be some misunderstanding between you and Sandy."
  • She left Hendrick's embrace and hurried to Sandra.
  • "Sandy, you have always said that you are innocent, right? Artemis has shown signs of waking up. As long as Artemis wakes up and clarifies the truth of the accident, your mother can clear her name. By then, you and Hendri can reconcile. Don't worry, I won't compete with you for Hendri. I just want both of you to be happy."
  • Sandra was somewhat surprised. Artemis is going to wake up?
  • On the side, Benson sarcastically said, "Look, you are both women. Ms. Clouds, you should learn from your cousin. You are so malicious, I even feel sorry for Hendri. Hendri, why not just..."
  • Hendrick's cold eyes swept towards Benson. Benson's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly changed his tune, "I'm just speaking up for you."
  • Even if he had a grudge against Sandra, Hendrick disdained to associate with people like Benson. "Get lost."
  • Seeing the terrifying look in Hendrick's eyes, Benson didn't finish his words, shivered, quickly picked up his clothes from the ground, and walked out. Darn it. I didn't get to do that woman, and now I'm in a bit of trouble.
  • Natalie said, "Hendri, can I have a private chat with Sandy? I want to persuade her."
  • "No need, I've said it before. From now on, the life and death of this woman have nothing to do with us." After saying that, he gave Sandra a cold glance and walked out with Natalie.
  • Sandra watched their backs, clenching her fists tightly. "Mom, I won't let you die in vain. I will definitely clear your name," she vowed.
  • For several days in a row, Hendrick did not appear in front of Sandra again. Instead, Natalie, like now, came here from time to time to provoke her.
  • Seeing that her vulgar words and sarcasm no longer had any effect on Sandra, Natalie knew that Sandra had given up on Hendrick. But she was not satisfied with just that. What she wanted was for Sandra to fall from heaven to hell.
  • This place is not hell yet.
  • "Oh, by the way, I have to tell you something. When I came just now, I received a call. Artemis woke up," Natalie said.
  • Sandra's originally calm eyes flickered.
  • Seeing this, Natalie smirked, "Finally, there's an expression on your annoying face. It seems that Artemis waking up will really benefit you. But do you think I will let your wish come true?"
  • Sandra's heart skipped a beat, her gaze fixed. "Natalie, what are you up to again?"
  • "I want to push you into hell. So, of course I have to make sure that the person who is beneficial to you will never speak up," Natalie explained.
  • Checking the time on her wrist, Natalie continued, "Hendrick received a message and is rushing over from the company. I don't have time to chat with you. I need to completely destroy your hope before he gets back."
  • With a wicked smirk, Natalie turned around and walked out of the ward.
  • No, I can't let my mother-in-law get into trouble...
