I began to hear the sounds around me. But something prevented me from opening my eyes, moving, and speaking. I felt trapped in my body, which urged me to let go, to remain still, calm, so that nothing would affect me. As I started to give in to that sensation, a voice, the voice that had been unsettling my heartbeat and exciting my body and mind for days, echoed in my darkness and didn't let me drift away.
- At first, I heard murmurs in the background, but after feeling that overwhelming contact on my lips, my attention focused on the voice that spoke to me, which I immediately recognized as the voice of the man I loved. I made an effort to understand everything he was saying because I knew he was talking to me, and I clung to his voice to anchor myself by his side.
