Chapter 182 Rich Hot And Infertile Husband (Or Maybe Not)

  • “But I was one step ahead of him, and I’ve already wiped the surveillance clean.” Nathan paused, “Does Mr. Reed suspect you?” Steven loosened his tie, “Liam ain’t no fool. I vouched for Celeste, how could he not suspect me? He knows as soon as Kaylee got into trouble, he’d check the surveillance.” Nathan said, “Mr. Reed didn’t check the surveillance, he went to destroy it just like us.” Steven paused, contemplating for a moment, before asking, “Are you certain that he went to destroy the surveillance footage?” “My intel is absolutely accurate.” Steven pursed his lips, and after a moment, laughed, “That’s quite interesting.” “Mr. Garcia, it’s easy to deal with the surveillance at the shop entrance, but there’s nothing we can do about the police surveillance on the road. If Mr. Reed keeps digging, he’ll definitely see our car at the scene where Ms. Reed got into trouble.
  • ” “So what if he sees it?” Steven said nonchalantly, “We didn’t do anything.” Indeed, they did nothing but stand by and watch. After sending Celeste back to the hospital last night, they retraced their steps. Kaylee woke up and ran out of the abandoned repair shop, staggering to the roadside to flag down a car. Steven watched coldly without stopping. His purpose for doubling back was to see how badly Kaylee was hurt. If her injuries weren’t serious enough, he might’ve attacked her again. She locked Clair in the bathroom, nearly killing her. How could Mr. Garcia let her off the hook? No one knew better than Nathan how much Steven doted on Clair. Nathan and Clair went to the same school. Clair was frail and sickly, always looking ill and much smaller than other children.
  • Mischievous kids at school liked to tease her. Stealing her water, tearing her homework, deliberately pulling her braids during class, or putting bugs in her bag. They never grew tired of these boring tricks. Even telling the teacher would only result in a slap on the wrist, and they’d just become more relentless in their teasing. Until one day, Clair fell ill at school and her medicine was nowhere to be found. Thankfully, the school nurse arrived in time to save her. That day, the Garcia family sent someone to take Clair home. But the matter didn’t end there. No one admitted to taking Clair’s medicine, and the school didn’t call the police for fear of harming their reputation. They sent a few leaders to the Garcia family to express their condolences and tried to sweep it under the rug.
