• I open my car door in a hurry, wanting to see Fiona as quickly as possible. It’s been too long since I held her in my arms, too long since I woke up with her strawberry scent wrapped around me and way too long since I felt her soft lips against mine.
• I need her right now like an addict needs his next fix. The distance has done me no good and the entire business trip felt like torture without her. On top of that, I had to come back and save Rowena. An involuntary rescue mission that I wasn’t keen on going on.
