• I stand still against Micah, my heart thundering in my chest. I can hear the guard open the door and any moment now, I fear we will be discovered. Micah’s proximity is making it difficult for me to stay still. With every breath my breasts brush against his chest and I feel an unwanted tingle shoot through me. He says nothing, his minty breath fanning across my face.
• Outside, I feel the guard come closer. Just when I am sure he is about to come where we are and catch us, he mutters something under his breath and then, we hear the door open and close once more. The guard has walked out.
