- Callum moved in closer, close enough for me to catch the scent of cigarettes and alcohol that clung to him. It made me feel dizzy.
- "You know, Eloise, I've always believed you could be tamed. A challenge, yes, but eventually, you will yield." He kept advancing, and I kept stepping back with each move. In my mind, I was already planning to grab something to throw at him or let him come closer so I could kick his balls. I was wondering how I'd manage that, though. Fear was still surging through me, rendering me speechless.
