Chapter 43 A Gentle Kiss

• Fiona remained seated in her car, panting heavily. The pain in her head made her dizzy, but she stayed conscious. Through the partially shattered windshield, she saw smoke rising from the car's hood. Fiona's hand groped for her phone on the passenger seat and directed the camera toward the crushed front of her car.
• With trembling fingers, she took a picture of her car and smiled bitterly.
• Fiona opened the messaging app on her phone and found William's contact. Though she knew the number had long been inactive, she still sent the photo.
