Chapter 16 Kneel and Apologize
- Jiang Xiaoxiao was so busy at work the entire morning that she had forgotten about the incident this morning. She didn’t see Jiang Qingqing and Lan Junhao anymore after that.
- She thought the duo had left.
- That afternoon, though He Lin had asked her to join them for lunch, she didn’t. Instead, she went to the toilet.
- But unexpectedly, when she came out of the toilet, she saw Jiang Qingqing standing by the vanity while she touched up her makeup.
- For a moment, Jiang Xiaoxiao was stunned. Her face darkened as she walked over slowly to wash her hands.
- The two of them stood side by side.
- Jiang Qingqing sized Jiang Xiaoxiao over the mirror and smiled sarcastically, “Hello, my wonderful sister. We meet again.”
- Jiang Xiaoxiao ignored Jiang Qingqing as if no one else was in the toilet except herself.
- Jiang Qingqing didn’t mind at all and said, “It has been five years and we have no news of you at all. I thought something had happened to you. So I see that you have been hiding in this tiny little company. Aww, Sister Xiaoxiao… You haven’t changed at all. You are still so lousy! “
- With that, she let out a cynical laugh.
- Jiang Xiaoxiao was disgusted, “We are not that close. In fact, my mom only had a child. I don’t remember she gave birth to a bastard.”
- Upon hearing the word “bastard”, Jiang Qingqing, who was initially feeling high and mighty, turned cold. Her face darkened, “Who are you calling a bastard?”
- “Whoever responded to me shall be the one.”
- Jiang Xiaoxiao turned off the tap as she shook the water off her hands proudly and looked straight into Jiang Qingqing’s eyes, “Jiang Qingqing, it’s been a while since we last met. You are still so jittery like a flea who jumps up and down. So irritating.”
- Jiang Qingqing was enraged.
- She hated to be referred to as a bastard.
- Every time she heard that, she felt as though people were laughing at her for being born out of wedlock.
- Now Jiang Xiaoxiao not only called her that, she even referred her as an irritating flea!
- “Slut, who are you to call me a bastard? I am so much better than you who gave birth to a bastard and dumped the child.
- Jiang Qingqing insulted venomously just so Jiang Xiaoxiao would be provoked.
- Jiang Xiaoxiao was indeed provoked. She clenched her fist and grit her teeth, “What did you say just now? I dare you to repeat it!”
- Jiang Qingqing obliged and said coldly, “So what if I were to repeat it? Did I say anything wrong? You had become a surrogate for money. You were so cheap and shameless! You had disgraced the entire Jiang family. No wonder Daddy and Junhao don’t want you. If your Mom had known this… Who knows? Maybe she would have wished she was dead so that she wouldn't have felt embarrassed because of you…”
- The more Jiang Qingqing spoke, the more excited she became. She ended up saying all sorts of nonsense to Jiang Xiaoxiao.
- Jiang Xiaoxiao was pissed off.
- She could no longer hold back the anger she was suppressing.
- She lifted her hands and slapped Jiang Qingqing as hard as she could.
- Slap!
- A loud slap could be heard echoing through the toilet.
- Jiang Qingqing’s face was turned to one side because of the slap. There was a reddish palm mark imprinted on her fair face and it became a little swollen instantly.
- She stared at Jiang Xiaoxiao in disbelief.
- It took her quite a while to finally react. She yelled at her viciously, “Jiang Xiaoxiao, how dare you hit me!”
- Just then, Jiang Xiaoxiao slapped her again with all her might.
- “Of course I have to slap you! Jiang Qingqing, I ended up like this all because of you. How dare you laugh at my misery? Let me tell you this! You deserve it!”
- With that, Jiang Xiaoxiao walked out of the toilet without looking at her again.
- Jiang Qingqing wouldn’t let things slide. She chased after her and screamed, “Jiang Xiaoxiao!!!”
- Jiang Xiaoxiao completely ignored her.
- Just then, she saw Lan Junhao who was waiting outside.
- Just like before, this man was suave and handsome.
- He was surprised when he saw Jiang Xiaoxiao but not long after, when he saw the palm mark on Jiang Qingqing’s face, his face darkened.
- “Qingqing! What happened to you?”
- Jiang Qingqing immediately hid her evilness when she saw Lan Junhao and pretended to be weak and pitiful as she pretended to tear up, “Junhao…”
- “Your face…” Lan Junhao saw her swollen cheeks and was taken aback. He rebuked at Jiang Xiaoxiao in anger, “Jiang Xiaoxiao!”
- Jiang Xiaoxiao turned around coldly and looked at him, “So what?”
- Lan Junhao scowled at Jiang Xiaoxiao without even asking what exactly happened, “Qingqing is your younger sister. Why did you slap her?”
- Jiang Qingqing hid in his hug while appearing wronged, “I was so happy when I saw my sister Xiaoxiao inside the toilet just now. So, I talked to her for a while. But without saying anything, she hurled a slap at me right now.”
- Jiang Xiaoxiao looked at Jiang Qingqing and sneered.
- After so many years, Jiang Qingqing’s acting skills had improved significantly.
- And as usual, Lan Junhao would only choose to believe in Jiang Qingqing.
- “Jiang Xiaoxiao, apologize to Qingqing immediately,” ordered the man whose face was gloomy. His gaze was so cold that it could kill.
- Jiang Xiaoxiao looked at him and she thought he was being absurd.
- They were childhood sweethearts. Yet, their relationship for over twenty years was nothing compared to Jiang Qingqing’s slanders.
- It had been like this five years ago. It was the same now.
- Even though she no longer had any feelings for this man, still, Jiang Xiaoxiao could not help but feel sad.
- She was sad that she fell for such a man. She must have been blind then.
- She laughed out loud as she stared at him sharply, “Who are you? Who are you to order me to apologize?”
- Upon hearing this, Lan Junhao’s face was even more gloomy.
- The girl who stood in front of him was no longer the obedient and feeble girl he had used to know.
- She had toughened up like a hedgehog. Her look was filled with coldness and disgust.
- Lan Junhao felt hurt and uncomfortable.
- At this moment, Li Sheng and Yan Yifei, who had heard the news, were dumbfounded looking at the scene when they arrived.
- “Mr. Lan, what... What happened?”
- Lan Junhao regained his sense and looked at Jiang Xiaoxiao heartlessly, “Mr. Li, she is one of the employees here, right?”
- Li Sheng looked at Jiang Xiaoxiao and said, “Yes, she is the person in charge for the project with the Jin Group.”
- “Oh? So this is the person in charge? How dare she slapped my fiancé! Mr. Li, I believe you should do something about this.”
- Lan Junhao asked Li Sheng while hugging Jiang Qingqing.
- Li Sheng and Yan Yifei were stunned when they saw Jiang Qingqing’s swollen face.
- “What… What exactly happened? Jiang Xiaoxiao, did you do this?” Li Sheng asked doubtfully.
- Jiang Xiaoxiao did not deny, “Yes, I did it.”
- Yan Yifei had never really liked Jiang Xiaoxiao since the beginning, so now that she had offended the company’s VIP, she spared no effort in making things worse, “Jiang Xiaoxiao, you are so daring! How could you offend our company’s VIP? Quick, apologize to them right now. Do you really want to get the company into trouble?”
- Jiang Xiaoxiao snorted in disdain, “Dream on!”
- Lan Junhao wasn’t pleased at all, “Mr. Li… Looks like we can’t work together anymore. Thank you very much for your time,” With that, he put his hands on Jiang Qingqing’s shoulder as he was ready to leave.
- Li Sheng panicked and grabbed Lan Junhao’s arms, “Mr. Lan, please hold on for a moment.”
- Then he went over to Jiang Xiaoxiao and asked, “Jiang Xiaoxiao, what happened? Do you know who they are? These are very important people. Our company needs them. Why do you offend them? Do you want to die? Do you know how much we will suffer if they left?”
- Jiang Xiaoxiao clenched her teeth and asked, “So General Manager, what do you want me to do?”
- Li Sheng was anxious, “Apologize to them, of course. “
- “Is an apology sufficient?” Jiang Xiaoxiao looked at Jiang Qingqing and sneered.
- She knew for sure that this woman would not be willing to just let things be.
- Indeed, Jiang Qingqing said immediately, “Kneel down and apologize to me!”
