Chapter 7 Let Me Have Half of Your Bed
- “It’s a small matter.”
- Jiang Xiaoxiao waved them off as she watched the father and son leave the house.
- The house felt empty. Jiang Xiaoxiao was left in a slight daze but she had tapped her face lightly to bring herself back to reality.
- You’ve only known him for less than a day. Why are you so reluctant to part with him?
- Probably because Bao is adorable?
- ……
- When the night fell, a gorgeous Maybach passed by like a streak of light on the road.
- Inside the car, the atmosphere was tense.
- Bao was sulking while he leaned his head on one side, ignoring his father.
- Jin Zhishen felt troubled and he was massaging his temples. He had decided not to coax Bao.
- Everyone in the family had pampered him too much, leaving him to be very spoiled. There had ought to be someone who could teach him restraint.
- The car arrived, stopping in front of the house.
- The car door opened and the little one got out, immediately running into the house.
- He had ignored all the housekeepers and butlers who had greeted him and had instead headed straight to his room, door shut tight.
- Not long after, loud bangs could be heard.
- There were sounds of broken glass.
- The butler who had stood outside the door felt worried and fearful. He went to look for Jin Zhishen, “Mr. Zhishen, what has happened to Mr. Beichen? He locked himself in the room and he was smashing things. I hope he doesn't hurt himself.”
- Jin Zhishen’s face turned grim, “Ignore him.”
- How could he do such a thing?
- Master and Madam had doted on Mr. Beichen, as if he were a precious gem. If Mr. Beichen was hurt, they would certainly cause a fuss.
- If that had happened, the entire family would be rolling over. The one who would suffer would ultimately be Mr. Zhishen!
- “Mr. Zhishen, it’s better to take a look. Mr. Beichen is still young. It’s normal for him to throw a tantrum. He will listen after you’ve coaxed him.”
- Knitting his brows, Zhishen knocked on the door, “Jin Beichen, when will you stop?”
- Disregarded, his words were simply futile, as Bao had continued to smash things. Soon after, the sound of groans could be heard.
- The butler and Jin Zhishen were left with worry.
- Jin Zhishen lifted his foot, kicking the door open.
- The little one was sitting on the floor, fingers bleeding due to the various cuts that had been inflicted.
- The butler turned pale and had immediately called upon the housekeeper, “Quick, bring the first aid kit over.”
- Jin Zhishen stepped over the debris, hugging the little one angrily, “Are you happy now?”
- Bao lifted his head, “I want Aunt Xiaoxiao.”
- Jin Zhishen replied, “It’s too late. No.”
- Bao started struggling, “Then I will not tend to my wounds. Let go of me. I hate daddy!”
- Jin Zhishen felt as though his head was going to explode. Withholding his temper, he gritted out, “Why do you like her? You’ve known her for less than a day!”
- “I like Aunt Xiaoxiao. She felt like my mommy…”
- Bao said sadly as his eyes turned red.
- Jin Zhishen felt sorry for the little one, his anger completely dissipating.
- Jin Zhishen had thought that Bao would be different from others, not longing for his mommy.
- In the past, Madam had tried to introduce him to daughters who were hailing from influential families, but no one could satisfy this little one.
- Yet, he said that a woman whom he had met less than 24 hours ago felt like mommy.
- Jin Zhishen had mixed feelings.
- He didn’t even know the woman.
- “Treat the wound first and we can talk about the rest later.”
- “We will go to Aunt Xiaoxiao’s house after the bandage,” Bao insisted.
- “It’s already very late at night.” Jin Zhishen tried to convince the little one.
- Bao sobbed immediately as tears raced down his cheeks, “I don’t want you, daddy. Go away.”
- The butler was worried and said, “Mr. Zhishen, just let him be. If we don’t treat the wound, Bao will lose too much blood.”
- While he was exaggerating, it was true that Bao was wounded.
- Jin Zhishen hesitated before relenting, “No crying allowed. I will bring you there after you have bandaged your wound.”
- Upon hearing his father, Bao stopped his crying immediately, leaving behind small hiccups.
- After being bandaged, Jin Zhishen carried Bao and left the house without a word.
- ……
- At the same time, Jiang Xiaoxiao had just finished showering.
- The doorbell rang. The person pressing the bell seemed to be in a hurry.
- Jiang Xiaoxiao opened the door in puzzlement as she found the little one and his father standing outside.
- Jiang Xiaoxiao, “...”
- Jin Zhishen then carried Bao as he walked in and said, “Ms. Jiang, if it wasn’t too much, can I bother you for a night? Bao wouldn’t stop looking for you.”
- Jiang Xiaoxiao was delighted as she carried Bao over, waving her hands, “It’s okay. It’s a small matter.”
- Jin Zhishen was delighted, “That’s good.” With that, he settled himself on the sofa.
- Jiang Xiaoxiao was confused.
- He... Intends to stay over too?
- Isn’t Bao the only one who is going to stay here for the night?
- “Mr. Jin, you…”
- “Eh?” Jin Zhishen looked as if it was only right for him to be there, “It looked like you have no extra rooms so the sofa is fine.”
- Jiang Xiaoxiao was dumbstruck.
- What did he mean by the sofa is fine?
- Is he really going to stay here?
- Jin Zhishen noticed her expression.
- Looking at her, she had seemed quite unwilling to let him stay for the night.
- This was a first for Jin Zhishen. Countless numbers of women had tried to climb into his bed, using all means to get closer to the Jin’s.
- This was his first time encountering someone like her.
- Interesting.
- Jin Zhishen was intrigued by her reaction, “Is there any problem?”
- “Eh, no problem. Hehe... I just thought that perhaps the sofa would be too small for you, causing you much suffering. You can actually go back and leave Bao here with me. Just come back and pick him up tomorrow.”
- There is no need for you to stay!
- I am just a weak and feeble woman. If others had known that I’ve stayed alone with an unknown man under my roof, would I still be able to get hitched?
- Jin Zhishen smiled, “I am not suffering. But if Ms. Jiang is willing to share half of the bed with me, I wouldn’t mind at all.”
