Chapter 7
- Delilah's POV
- “Please tell me what you have planned against me because I have a feeling that whatever it is, I hate that the most?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrow.
- “Nothing much. You know how much I hate your boyish clothes and look.”, he said, on which I shook my head. I could already imagine what he was thinking. “Oh! Come on, Delilah. Just for a few hours, you have to look like a girl! With heels, dress, and some makeup.”
- “No way!”
- “You will have that as your punishment, and it’s not that I’m trying to set you with some man.”, he said. “Can’t you do this for your only friend, huh?”
- “And where are you planning to take me by dressing me like a barbie doll?” I asked, narrowing my eyes.
- “Club.”, he said in an excited tone. I opened my mouth to remind him that I was just sixteen when he told me, “I know. I know what you’re going to say next, but ‘If you're 16 or under, you are allowed to go to a Club (or premises primarily used to sell alcohol) if you're accompanied by an adult.’ And my friend, I’m going to that adult. So, we are going to club tonight.”
- “But…”
- “Say YES, I have never gone to a Club before and after having you by my side. I will feel confident and … and also consider it as my birthday present. Just me and you.”
- And there he was going to be, that adult who would watch me in the club.
- “But…
- “Can’t you do this for me, please, please?”
- “At least listen to me first, Liam.”, I snapped before continuing. “But I don’t have any dress with me.”
- “Not a problem! Even I don’t have any new clothes for my birthday. Freshen up quickly, and then we will go on shopping.”
- “And I don’t have money as well.”
- “Don’t worry; I will pay on your behalf.”, he said with a wink. “I can’t believe that I have actually convinced you to dress up like a girl.”
- “You blackmailed me.”
- “Whatever you call it. The next time you forget my birthday, I will ask you to date a man for at least a day.”
- My eyes widened hearing that. “That… that will never happen. I won’t forget from next year because there is a high chance that I will be leaving this city tomorrow.”
- “Tomorrow?”
- “Yeah!”
- “What about me and your further studies?”
- “We will still be friends and about studies. I’m not planning to study further. Moreover, you always knew that your path would no longer be the same after high school because you want to be a software engineer while sticking your ass at one chair from morning to night is not my thing.”, I explained. “But don’t worry, soon I will get a new phone, and then we can stay connected ….”
- “Hold on!!” Liam said and left the bed and pulled out something from his closet. When he turned toward me, I saw a brand new phone in his hand. “Here.”, he said, giving it to me. “Dad sent this for your birthday gift, but you denied taking this before your parents didn’t allow it. But now that you’re leaving, I don’t think you will have any problem in accepting this.”
- “I …”
- “I don’t want to hear anything, Delilah. We both know that you need it. If you wouldn’t have saved me half of my life, I’m sure that the expenses of hospital and medical bills would have been more than the price of the phone. So, don’t think I’m giving an expensive gift while you can’t give something this expensive to me now. Your friendship is more precious than any gift.”
- I was overwhelmed by his words, but instead of thanking him or saying anything sweet, I slapped his arms. “Shut up! Idiot, are you planning to make me cry?”
- “Of course not! Now, hurry up! I will get a new Simcard for you along with other things.”

- After four hours!!
- “Where did you disappear after leaving me in the parlor?” I asked Liam, who finally appeared at the time of paying the bills.
- “I thought to get dress and heels for both of us.”, he replied and paid the bill. “Because I had an idea that you wouldn’t let me shop peacefully after seeing the size of the dress.”
- “Listen, I’m warning you. I’m not going to wear some hanky size dress in which I can’t even bend.”, I said, but he just grinned.
- “It’s my birthday, girl. And you have to fulfill my wish just like Jennie. Now, let’s go!! We have to get home first and then to club from there.”, he said, grabbing my wrist and taking me out from there.
- “Don’t you think you’re wasting a lot of money on me? What will your parents say?”
- “Don’t worry; I’m using the personal money that I have earned from tutoring kids. And I don’t mind spending it on you. Now, stop thinking about all those things and tell me about your first experience of a parlor. You might have felt a lot of pain while waxing.”
- “Nope. I’m habitual to pain, so waxing was not a big deal.”
- “Hmm. Tough girl. But why do you train yourself so hard? What are you planning to become a trainer or something?”
