• The knock came hard and impatient.
• “Valerie, open this door.” Armani’s voice was sharp, demanding.
• She didn’t answer. She sat on the edge of her bed, gripping the sheets, still shaking with anger, her face red as ever. Her mind was spinning, replaying the events of the night; the way Raymond had touched her, the way Armani had laughed, the way he had defended that pervert instead of standing up for her, she pulled off the sheets and yelled. “Leave me the fuck alone!”
