Chapter 12 Is She Spending The Night?

• The evening was heavy with tension as Armani’s car pulled into the driveway at exactly 7 p.m. The hum of the engine ceased, and he honked twice, waiting for Valerie to appear at the gate. But there was no sign of her. Irritated, Armani stepped out of the car and manually pushed the gate open. He went back into the car, drove in, and honked again, still no response. He apologised to the pretty lady he had come home with, muttering under his breath about the incompetent help he was receiving from his housekeeper. He parked, locked the gate behind him, and strode into the house while she followed behind.
• The aroma of whatever had been prepared wafted through the air, and Armani followed it to the dining area. He took his seat at the head of the table and motioned for the young lady to sit, the grand dining room’s elegance clashing with his foul mood. The table was neatly set, but there was still no sign of Valerie.
