Chapter 5
- The enormous tail of the humanoid snake swayed, causing the azure seawater to splash on both sides. He held her effortlessly and headed towards the bustling archipelago on the water's surface. Samuel pursued closely behind, firing several shots, all of which the snake easily evaded.
- This thrilling scene was something Julia had never experienced before. She had lived for eighteen years and never imagined that one day she would be held by a humanoid snake while swimming in the sea!
- "Samuel!"
- A bullet swiftly grazed both of their faces, followed by a muffled gunshot that entered the sea. The gaze of the humanoid snake suddenly turned fierce, as it held Julia tightly in his arms, embracing her waist, and accelerated suddenly.
- With her face turned towards the rear, Julia suddenly saw Samuel making a gesture to her.
- Understanding his signal, Julia mustered some strength and, taking advantage of the snake's momentary distraction, grabbed onto his black hair and fiercely bit his ear.
- "Ouch!"
- He let out a muffled groan, and the taste of blood instantly filled Julia's mouth. The speed of the humanoid snake's swimming abruptly slowed down as it squeezed Julia's cheeks and created a distance of half an arm's length between them.
- "Let me go! You monster!"
- His eyes stared at her with a mix of disbelief and anger. His deep blue pupils were now tainted with a menacing black. As the speedboat drew closer, he grasped the roots of her hair and pulled her down into the depths of the sea...
- "Julia! Julia!"
- Samuel felt like he was going insane as he helplessly watched his beloved girl being pulled into the sea. Each passing second felt like an eternity, and where they had disappeared remained completely silent.
- "Colonel, please calm down. A few of us will go down and check."
- Standing at the edge of the speedboat, Samuel's reddened eyes stared intently at the calm and tranquil sea. The heavy sound of a few people entering the water reached his ears, and he followed their figures closely, never letting his guard down.
- Suddenly, within the area surrounded by the speedboats, several strands of deep red blood slowly rose. Gradually, they increased in quantity until, in a moment when a cluster of bubbles vanished, a person emerged from the water.
- "Colonel! It's Brady!"
- He was one of the people who had gone into the water to search for the missing Julia. He was now prone in a pool of bloodied seawater. Someone nearby quickly turned him over, and in the next moment, everyone gasped in horror.
- The person who was alive just moments ago now had a gaping, bloody hole on the left side of his chest, clearly indicating that his heart had been torn out. The remaining veins and cock were indistinct, and his eyes, wide open and terrifying, seemed enlarged due to extreme horror.
- "Ugh!" Someone couldn't bear the gruesome sight and vomited.
- Five minutes had passed, and apart from Brady resurfacing, the other four who went down remained missing. Samuel knew he couldn't wait any longer. He discarded his stiff military uniform onto the deck and prepared to dive into the sea himself to search for Julia.
- "Colonel, look!"
- Within the small encircled area, another pool of blood appeared. Unlike before, this time it erupted like a geyser, quickly staining the vast expanse of the sea. The bodies that floated up one after another had all suffered varying degrees of attack, some of them even dismembered...
- Samuel couldn't even guess whether this was the doing of the humanoid snake or other creatures in the sea.
- "It's Miss Julia!" a soldier who was salvaging his comrade suddenly shouted, pointing to a young girl floating in the pool of blood.
- "Julia!"
- Samuel couldn't hold back any longer. He leaped down and swam with all his strength to Julia's side, holding her in his arms. He brushed away the hair that stuck to her face and realized that she was only pale and unconscious.
- "Julia, wake up, please."
- Julia was sleeping restlessly, trapped in terrifying nightmares that seemed never-ending. Finally, the calling voice reached her ears and gradually pulled her out. As she left the dream, she once again saw that frenzied humanoid snake...
- "Oh!"
- "It's great, Julia is awake!"
- There were several people inside the small tent: Evan and Caroline, as well as Samuel and...Thomas. When Julia, still dazed, saw Thomas behind Samuel, she paused for a moment.
- Wearing a white coat, Thomas had a handsome face similar to Samuel's, but these two brothers, who were four years apart, had different temperaments. One was gentle as water, and the other was cold as ice. Thomas himself was a gloomy piece of ice.
- "Uncle Evan, don't worry. I will give Julia another shot later, and she will be fine after some time of rest," said Thomas, a military doctor who had been in service for two years.
- Evan fully trusted Thomas's skills and patted his shoulder in reassurance before sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at Julia.
- "It's good to see you wake up. Don't think about what happened before anymore. In a few days, Dad will send you back home, okay?"
- Evan realized how dangerous this island was, especially now that his daughter had narrowly escaped death. If it weren't for Julia's inability to board a ship at the moment, he would have sent her back to the safety of the mainland immediately.
- What happened before? Images beyond her control flashed in her mind, the moment when she was dragged into the deep sea... Gripping the thin blanket tightly, she trembled suddenly.
- "Dad!" Julia threw herself into Evan's arms, tears streaming down her face incessantly. It was too terrifying. This could be a lifelong psychological shadow for her. Whenever she thought about the scene of the humanoid snake massacring the soldiers, fear rendered her speechless.
- "It's alright, sweetheart. Don't be scared. Dad is here with you."
- Evan's tenderness, after divorcing his wife, was fully directed towards Julia. He doted on her, loved her endlessly. And this time, the humanoid snake that hurt Julia, he knew he would never let it go...
- Finally, Julia cried herself to exhaustion and fell into a deep sleep.
- When she woke up again, only she and Thomas remained in the tent. He sat nonchalantly by her side, his long, distinct fingers brushing against her lips repeatedly, his narrow eyes filled with indifference.
- "What are you doing?!" Julia screamed, pushing his hand away. But her action undoubtedly angered Thomas. He forcefully grabbed her flailing hands and forcefully pressed her head, suppressing her struggles.
- "What? Did you think that by running here with your dad, I wouldn't be able to find you? Julia, the woman I want, there's nothing I can't obtain!"
- At twenty-three, Thomas was sharp and shrewd. Compared to his brother, Samuel, he had deeper and more sophisticated thoughts, and of course, he was more twisted. Since he was eighteen, he had developed a liking for Julia and had been yearning for her these past few years, even though she only liked his brother.
- "Let go of me!"
- For some reason, after experiencing the humanoid snake incident, Julia suddenly became a little afraid of men, scared of that inescapable restraint, just like what was happening before her eyes.
- "I won't let go. Look at your swollen lips. Did that monster kiss you? And your underwear, did it take them off? When I saw you not wearing any underwear during the examination, I couldn't help but... fuck you, you know?"
- Compared to Samuel's integrity, Thomas was more like a scoundrel, spewing one disgusting word after another. Listening to him, Julia was overcome with tears and wanted to curse him out.
- "Get lost! Just get lost!"
