Chapter 31

  • I found myself in a state of uncertainty as I stepped out of the mansion and entered the garden where the event was taking place. The attention seemed to be focused on me, though it was never my intention to be the center of it all. It was never part of my plan for things to unfold in this way.
  • Slowly, I made my way toward the table that Logan's grandmother had mentioned earlier. She had told me that a guy named David Lopez, her grandson, would be sitting there. As I approached the table, I couldn't help but notice that Logan's table was conveniently placed right next to ours. It felt as though the old woman was deliberately stirring up trouble, and I couldn't help but sense that there was more to her plan than met the eye. Yet, despite my reservations, I still agreed to go along with it.
  • Regardless of the outcome of this plan, I knew that I would have to face the consequences. It was impossible for me to believe that Logan could truly care about me. I had been fooled once before, and I wouldn't allow myself to fall for such a trick again. Deep down, I knew that the truth was going to hit me hard once more, leaving me in a state of turmoil.
