Chapter 13 Molly Disappeared
- Grace hurriedly pulled her hand back and pretended to tidy her hair. “Nothing? I just recalled something from the past when I looked at Molly.”
- After hearing that, Christopher did not question her further. According to the information on her, she had been kidnapped and sold off to the mountainous area for half a year. For a university student no more than 20 years old at the time, she must have suffered deep emotional wounds from the experience. Therefore, something Molly said just now might have triggered her painful memories!
- Besides, he had no interest in the personal affairs of others. Still, for some reason, his gaze couldn’t help landing on the delicate-looking woman sitting next to him.
- Seeing Molly snuggling against her, he felt an inexplicably warm feeling in his heart, and the look in his black eyes softened subconsciously—it was as if they were meant to get along like this…
- Soon, they arrived at the amusement park.
- Christopher had always been busy with work. It seemed like he had never been to a place like this before. Therefore, it was mostly Grace running about doing everything—from buying the tickets to playing with Molly.
- They played the bumper cars together, then accompanied Molly fishing for a while. After that, they rode on the merry-go-round together. The three of them looked like a little family of three…
- “Daddy, Daddy, let’s ride the roller coaster!” Molly’s exhilarated face was flushed. Tugging at Christopher, she headed toward the roller coaster.
- To her surprise, the other party refused. “We’re not going.”
- “Why?!”
- “It’s not safe.”
- Then, she angrily pouted her small mouth, turning her face away to ignore him.
- “President Knight, it’s rare for children to get a chance to visit the amusement park. Why don’t you do as she wishes?” Grace helped Moly champion her cause.
- President Knight is such a strange man. Out of so many joyrides, he only allows Molly to play the simpler and safer ones. He immediately rejects any of the slightly more exciting rides. If he’s going to be like this, why bother bringing Molly here to play?
- “Do you want to play too?” Christopher asked her suddenly.
- “President Knight, we came here to play with Molly. Any six or seven-year-old child would love to play challenging and exciting games. It’s very hard to understand your current behavior.”
- “If that’s the case, you accompany her.” This time around, he gave in easily.
- Thus, she seemed to realize something and tentatively asked, “President Knight, are you afraid of heights?”
- “I just don’t like playing these useless games,” he replied with a guilty conscience, avoiding her eyes. Then, he walked over to Molly and said, “Molly, Miss Grace will accompany you on the roller coaster, okay?”
- Molly glared at him unhappily, then turned around and walked over to Grace. “Miss Grace, let’s go. We’ll ride on the roller coaster. Daddy is a coward!”
- After hearing those words, he became speechless.
- Looking at his deflated appearance, Grace tried her best to hold in her laughter.
- Who could have expected the great President Knight to be afraid of heights? If this information gets out, it will certainly become a hot topic!
- Christopher stood below and watched the two of them screaming in excitement on the roller coaster, then he became absent-minded again.
- They look so much like a mother-daughter pair that even their expressions are similar…
- When they got off the roller coaster, he gazed at Grace, who looked like a university student and came back to his senses.
- I don’t believe I’m thinking about this. Grace looks no more than 25 or 26 years old at most. How could she possibly have a daughter Molly’s age? Besides, I searched the entire Imperial University for more than half a year. If it were her, I would have found her a long time ago.
- After riding on the roller coaster, Molly was sweating profusely and shouting for a drink.
- Thus, Grace pointed at a store not too far away and said, “That place sells drinks. You guys wait here while I go and buy the drinks.”
- However, when she returned, she didn’t see Molly anywhere. So, she asked puzzledly, “President Knight, where’s Molly?”
- Christopher pointed at a slide nearby. “She’s playing there—”
- Before he finished his sentence, his expression changed completely—there was no sign of Molly at the slide!
