Chapter 15 A Familiar Feeling
- Molly frowned. “Miss Grace, you are hurting me!”
- Thus, Grace immediately came back to her senses and quickly released Molly’s hand. Then, she rubbed them gently, feeling guilty. “I’m sorry for hurting you, Molly. I just wanted to know. What else did you talk about with that girl?”
- “Nothing else; her mother dragged her away.”
- Then, she sat down in disappointment. Staring down at the crowd below, she tried her hardest to search but couldn’t find the little girl selling balloons.
- That being said, No.7 is in Rainwell City too! Doesn’t that mean I’ll be able to find her right away?
- While she was lost in her thoughts, Christopher, who was sitting opposite her, suddenly clutched at his chest and squatted down.
- “President Knight, what’s wrong?” she asked as she quickly helped him up.
- Christopher shook his head, looking as white as a ghost. “It’s nothing!” However, he suddenly grabbed her hand.
- “Are you… afraid of heights?” she tentatively inquired.
- He threw a sharp glance at her and said in a stern voice, “Don’t you dare tell anybody!!
- “So you are afraid of heights!” Even though she sort of suspected it, she still found it rather surprising.
- He glared at her, and in doing so, inadvertently looked down. Then, he hugged her suddenly.
- Grace stiffened. After that, she saw that the man had his eyes tightly shut and gradually relaxed.
- I see; it’s because he is scared…
- Molly looked at them with a confused expression. “What’s wrong with Daddy?”
- “Your daddy is feeling unwell. Come and hug him, Molly!”
- Thus, Molly walked over and hugged Christopher from behind. “Are you okay, Daddy? Where are you hurting?”
- Christopher answered with his eyes still closed, “I’m fine. I’ll be okay in a bit.”
- After about 20 minutes of suffering, the Ferris wheel finally came to a stop.
- “It’s okay now, President Knight. We’ve arrived.”
- Hearing a voice, he came back to his senses. “Huh?”
- Then, he looked at Grace, who was looking back at him, and finally noticed that he was still hugging her. Thus, he retracted his hands awkwardly.
- As the three of them got off the Ferris wheel, he felt empty for an inexplicable reason. Gazing at Grace, his eyes darkened considerably.
- I can’t believe I don’t feel repulsed at the thought of touching this woman. In fact, she feels rather familiar…
- Before he could continue analyzing his thoughts, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his stomach. Consequently, he dropped to the ground in pain.
- “President Knight, what’s wrong?!” Grace was puzzled. We’ve already gotten off the Ferris wheel, so it can’t be due to his fear of heights, right?
- “My stomach hurts!” By then, he was already covered in a cold sweat.
- “Daddy!” Molly called out worriedly.
- Grace grabbed his wrist and felt his pulse. “Do you often suffer from acid reflux, nausea, belching, and a dull pain in your upper abdomen?"
- Christopher looked at her in surprise. “You know traditional medicine too?”
- “I studied a little bit.” The father of her savior, Andrew Wolf, was a renowned traditional medicine practitioner. Therefore, she had picked up some skills from him.
- She observed that Christopher was feeling worse and worse. Thus, she decisively made her decision. “In this situation, you need to go to the hospital for a gastroscopy. If the results turn out fine, you should take some traditional medicine to improve your condition. Besides, you need to eat your meals on time and watch your nutrition intake.”
- Therefore, he took out his phone and contacted the driver. Soon, they arrived at the hospital.
- The results of the gastroscopy indicated that he was suffering from a mild case of ulcers. Moreover, the reason for that was undoubtedly due to excessive alcohol intake, irregular meal times, excessive stress, malnutrition, and whatnot. Consequently, the doctor placed him on an intravenous drip. After that, the driver went to pay the hospital bills. On the other hand, Grace held Molly as they accompanied him in the hospital ward.
- Due to his fear of heights and pain, Christopher looked very weak and frail at the moment. He gazed at Grace and suddenly found the beautiful girl in front of him to be particularly pleasing to the eyes. “Thank you for everything today!”
- Molly had tired herself out playing the entire morning and had fallen asleep in Grace’s arms. Therefore, Grace carefully laid her down on the bed beside them. “President Knight, there are many things in the world that are more important than money—like your health and your family.”
- He sighed softly. “You won’t understand.”
- In response, she became a little angry. “Yes, I don’t understand. I know that you are very busy. Many matters are waiting on your decision, as well as work you need to deal with, at the Knight Group. But, I don’t believe that you are so busy that you don’t even have time to eat a single meal…”
- When Grace became angry, she looked like a little wildcat with its fur standing on end. Moreover, her face was flushed red, hinting at a trace of stubborn cuteness. Looking at her, a strange emotion flashed through Christopher’s heart.
- At that moment, the door of the hospital ward flew open suddenly and Madam Knight walked in with a cold expression. “Who do you think you are? How dare you shamelessly try to educate my son?”
