Chapter 12 Amusement Park
- “Do you want to recognize him as your father?”
- Noah looked at the expression on his mother’s face, then hurriedly shook his head. “I don’t. He isn’t a worthy father. Right now, he isn’t even aware of our existence. How could I possibly want to recognize him as my father?”
- “Are you sure? But, you called him Daddy just now.” Grace’s heart was pounding slightly.
- For so many years, Noah and Kayleigh had grown up with her. Moreover, they were extremely considerate and never questioned why other children their age had a father, but they didn’t.
- Besides, she was also worried that they might want to look for their father. After all, what child wouldn’t want a complete family? Unfortunately, there was no way Christopher and her could ever work out. Putting aside the fact that the Knight Family was wealthy and would turn their noses up at somebody like her, Christopher himself had no interest in women, except for that accident seven years ago…
- If he learns of the children’s existence… Based on that cold and forceful temperament of his, he would certainly snatch my children from me without hesitation! I don’t want to be separated from my children!
- “But, we don’t know how to address him…” Noah lowered his head, explaining cautiously.
- Grace was taken aback by the question her son threw at her so suddenly.
- True… How should they address Christopher?
- “Um… Just address him as President Knight.” After mulling over it for a while, she couldn’t come up with an appropriate way of addressing him either.
- “Okay. In the future, we’ll call him President Knight.” Both her children obediently nodded in unison.
- By the time they finished breakfast, it was 8 AM.
- Then, Noah looked at the clock and asked worriedly, “Mommy, have you decided? Are you going to the amusement park or not?”
- Grace, who was searching for a set of casual sportswear in her room, gritted her teeth and made her decision. “I’m going. It’s such a great opportunity after all. I can’t let it slip by.”
- After hearing her reply, he took out his phone in the living room and called up Dylan. “Uncle Dylan, Mommy has to go out today for an errand. Can you come over and keep Kelly company?”
- “Of course, I can. I’ll be there immediately. How about bringing you fishing today?” Dylan’s cheerful voice came from the other side of the phone.
- After putting away the phone, Noah glanced at Grace, who was busy baking a cake in the kitchen. “Mommy, you don’t need to worry about us. Uncle Dylan will come over to keep us company soon. So, don’t worry and go. You have to make Molly like you, okay?”
- In response, Grace gave him a thumbs-up gesture with her flour-covered hands.
- Then, Kayleigh became unhappy. “I don’t want Uncle Dylan to play with us. I want Mommy to play with us.”
- Thus, Noah hurriedly tugged at her hand and whispered comfortingly, “Don’t kick up a fuss. Let me tell you; Uncle Dylan said he’s going to bring us fishing later. He will also treat us to a fancy meal. If you want Mommy to keep us company, we will only get to go to the supermarket, then we’ll have to stay at home to study.”
- “A fancy meal?” Upon hearing that there would be delicious food, Kayleigh’s eyes instantly sparkled.
- “That’s right. After we finish our meal, we can also ask Uncle Dylan to bring us to the zoo or the amusement park. Don’t you know how easy it is to persuade Uncle Dylan?”
- After that, she immediately ran toward the kitchen and yelled, “Mommy, hurry up and go play with Sister No.8! Noah and I will be good kids and listen to Uncle Dylan while we wait for you to come home.”
- Grace placed the cake she had prepared into the oven and washed her hands. Then, she hugged and kissed her daughter. “Kelly, you’re such a good girl!”
- At 9 AM, Grace wrapped up the cake she had just finished baking when she received another phone call from Molly. “Miss Grace, we’ll reach Victory Elementary School soon. Wait for us there, alright?”
- “Sure, I’ll go over immediately.”
- Then, she brushed her hair briefly and applied some light makeup. After that, she picked up the cake she had baked and prepared to leave.
- “The two of you had better listen to Uncle Dylan obediently!” she worriedly reminded them before leaving the house.
- “Mommy, don’t worry!” As Kayleigh said that, she pushed her out the door.
- As soon as she arrived at Victory Elementary School, she saw the Knight Family’s car.
- Today, she was wearing a light blue tracksuit and her hair was tied up in a ponytail. Thus, she looked like a university student, overflowing with youthful energy.
- When the car came to a stop, Molly jumped out of the car. “Miss Grace, you look so pretty today!”
- As they were going to the amusement park, Molly was wearing a pink tracksuit today and her hair was tied up in twin pigtails.
- “You are very pretty today too, Molly.” Grace couldn’t help patting her daughter’s head.
- As they were conversing, they got into the car. However, as soon as they entered the car, Grace noticed that Christopher was sitting next to her expressionlessly.
- “Hello, President Knight!” She was a little flustered and nearly dropped the cake in her hands.
- Christopher sized her up with a glance, but he didn’t say anything and simply nodded his head politely as usual.
- Pointing at the box in her hand, Molly asked, “Miss Grace, what’s that?”
- “The food at the amusement park might not be too hygienic, so I baked some cakes at home. You can eat some when you get hungry.”
- “What flavors do you have? Do you have my favorites?”
- “Of course, it’s all your favorite flavors.”
- “Hmm? How did you know which flavors are my favorite?” Molly asked curiously.
- “Um—” Grace glanced at Christopher.
- His brow twitched slightly, and he glanced at her subconsciously. He looked like he wanted to know the answer too.
- “I asked my colleagues at the hotel, and they told me.” Grace chose to answer honestly. She was well aware that some things were difficult to conceal from President Knight, especially when it was related to Molly.
- “Oh, I see! You are so nice to me.” After saying that, Molly snuggled against her arm.
- Grace’s heart pounded fiercely. Unable to hold it in any longer, she gently stroked her daughter’s little face.
- It’s been seven years. My Baby No.8 has finally returned to my side and is snuggling against my arm. My precious baby; no matter what happens, I will never let them go again.
- Her hands trembled slightly because she was so emotional. Thus, Christopher glanced at her and asked, “What’s wrong?”
