• “Is there any way I can do this without getting hurt or feeling any sort of pain?” Lucia probed, looking worried. The superior smiled as she stared sympathetically at Lucia.
• “It’ll only take a few minutes, I’ll give you a pill to chew and it’ll numb the pain. You won’t feel any pain before or after the surgery. Trust me” The Dr. was the first to assure her. Her eyes darted from the Dr. to the Superior and back to Desmond, yearning for some sort of reassurance from them.
• As her eyes met with each of them, they nodded back with a soft look on her face. Looking like a weak fairy princess in a Disney character, Lucia obliged and slowly lay on the bed, ready for the surgery.
