Chapter 47 ~His Burden On Me~

• After such a busy day with Brian, I had to return to the inner chamber where I often passed the night.
• Until the moment I decided to return to bed, I was yet to decide whether to let Brian sleep on my thighs or not. Only that I wished I could sleep while sitting up. I had developed thick skin towards many limitations in this marriage now that getting injured by him or being lynched by my husband wasn’t an issue any more; perhaps such crossroads decision had got me going.
• I willingly gave in to the idea of returning to my bed. As I lay Brian in his bed, this pang of pity hung around me. He seemed as though he had never been mad. He was so delicate to behold. My heart melted even till this very moment. I only saw myself smiling sheepishly as him and when I couldn’t control the pang anymore I sat down to gaze upon him for a while.
