Chapter 8 "When he gets angry!"
- I WAS out of the resthouse when I got up in the morning to go for a walk on the beach. My mom and I have been staying with my uncle Alanson and his family in General Santos for three days now. The resort has been opened for the tourists.
- I went for a walk. I've seen numerous faces, and some have even smiled at me without my knowledge, or if I was aware, I smiled back. The majority of them have been staying at the resort since yesterday, staying in hotels, cottages, cabins, and even in their own tents, while the others have only come today. Yes, there were a lot of people, but not so many that it became crowded. The resort's beauty and tranquillity have been well-appreciated.
- Almost everyone is plainly rich, exactly like the people I've met as newcomers who are now bonding with Zack and Rylan.
- I sat on a bench and observed them. I'm not sure why I suddenly felt out of place and shrinking myself in a pair of yellow pajamas while the women playing with the Lamont boys are all lovely and sexy in their bikini wear. The men all dressed beach shorts with their upper body parts exposed to show off their impressive muscles and abs.
- "Zack, take me deep and let's dive!" t he woman in the seductive white two-piece bikini with the silver skin-whitening complexion requested jokingly.
- "Me too, Zack!" exclaimed the other girl, who was also dressed in a white bikini.
- They snickered, and for the first time, I noticed Zack grin as a reaction of his present female companions, as if he was enjoying the sexy views of them. I couldn't help but smile as he gently nodded for the first time I saw him smile, though I admit I was a little stung by it.
- My gaze was drawn to Ryle, who was laughing at the group of men with them. They all appear to be rich and attractive young men.
- Zack's three female buddies look same age as the other two men in Ryle's group of men in their mid-twenties. Men are roughly the same age as them.
- I saw Ryle see me from where I am, and I noted that his friends' gazes abruptly shifted to my direction. Feeling self-conscious, I looked behind me to search for who they were looking at, but no one was there.
- The two men in their group stared back and forth between me and Ryle, and when they looked back at me, they chuckled.
- "Ryn!" Ryle gave me a friendly wave.
- I smiled and waved back to my eldest stepbrother.
- "Whoa! Do you know her? ,Ryle, you really know how to get girls to like you," said the amused man in their group.
- Zack, on the other hand, turned to face me alongside his girls. His eyes had darkened as usual.
- Ryle was tickled by his friend's claim. "She's not mychick, you a$$hole! She's my stepsister!"
- Do you mean uncle Alanson is remarrying?" A woman from their social circle widened eyes. "Stepsister? Do you mean uncle Alanson is remarrying?"
- "Not yet, but soon. There is no set date yet, but Irryn and I will be stepsiblings."
- "Irryn's her name?" chuckled the guy with narrowed eyes who appeared to be half-Chinese.
- Ryle gave a nod. "Yeah. She's Irryn . Irryn Rosabell."
- "Introduce us to her, dude. Come on!"
- His male friends began dragging him here.
- "Hi, Ryn. My friends are eager to meet you. Will that be okay?" he asked me shyly.
- I nodded and smiled at him. "Sure thing, brother. I'm fine with it."
- "Wow! You're close, huh? Cool!"
- "Tss!" He smirked kiddingly. "Irryn is going to be my stepsister. These are my friends, Ryn."
- "Hello, my name is Flamur." The first guy who noticed me a bit ago gave me his hand for a shake.
- I accepted it right away.
- "You know, Irryn, your name is perfect for you. Lovely and innocent."
- "Thank you."
- "Don't hit on her, Flam. She's still so young!" Ryle instantly cut in.
- Flamur simply chuckled at my stepbrother's protectiveness of me. "What? I'm just telling her what I think!"
- "Honest opinion or flowery praises?" asked another boy of their group of friends, grinning.
- "Stop it! She's only sixteen! She's f ragile and vulnerable!" Ryle continued on.
- "Sixteen? Flamur, she's still a child!" The woman in the red bikini guffawed.
- She even peeked at me from head to toe, her brow furrowed and a sneer on her face.
- She had a disgust expression on her face, as if I did something wrong and she didn't like it. I wasn't not sure why the women in their gang appear despising me. Men didn't seem to mind.
- Flamur gave a muted cheer in response, and then the other five guys—Armel, Yago, Dencel, Janzen, and Vandyke—introduced themselves.
- Armel, Yago, and Janzen appeared to be the same age as Flamur and Ryle, while Dencel and Vandyke appeared to be the same age as Zack.
- "You're just sixteen years old? Not bad. Did you know our ages aren't that far apart? Last month, I turned twenty," Dencel told me wearing a friendly smile.
- "Phew! Dencel, you play that trick on your other girls!" Ryle eventually rebuked him and approached me. "I'm sorry, Irryn, okay?"
- I shook my head, smiling, and I understood their friendliness. "It's alright, bro."
- "And she even refers to you as 'bro,' huh? Cool! It's wonderful to be called 'bro' by such a lovely lady!"
- "How about your other stepbrotherZack? You also call him your 'brother', huh baby?" Janzen spoke friskily.
- I would have said no, but he had called Zack before I could open my mouth.
- "Speaking of Zack, why isn't he here with us? Zack! Why don't you come over here, Zack?"
- I panicked, like though I didn't know what to do. I wanted to stop Janzen from calling Zack, but I couldn't move and couldn't say anything.
- It was too late for me to stay away. Janzen had already called Zack from where he was with his three women, who were still looking at us. He was calm and serious, and his dark eyes directly hit me. What else could I possibly have done?
- Even if I'm not used to it, it's always been that way with me. He's looking at me in such a hostile way, and I'm still not used to the strange hammering of my heart whenever our eyes meet.
- "She's not my sister, and she never will be," Zack replied savagely, curving edges of his lips to a mocking smile.
- The males, including the two women standing beside the boys near here, were taken aback by his response to me, as were the three women with him.
- "Yeah! Look at her, she even looks so unsatisfactory! She goes to the beach and then slips into her pajamas!" answered the girl in a skimpy blue bikini.
- "That's right! Lamont's level is high and she cannot even reach him!" said by the lady in red bikini.
- "Me too, if that's my stepsister? Oh come on! Thanks but no thanks!" continued the woman who told Flamur earlier that I was just sixteen.
- "Hey guys, enough!" Armel rebuked. "You're being too judgmental on her."
- "Whatever, Armel!" the woman in black bikini finally spoke.
- "Guys, relax. You don't need to be like this to Irryn. She's my stepsibling so, at least, respect her and stop saying nasty uncalled for opinions about her!" F rustrated, Ryle defended me. His tone is serious and annoyed, but he remained calm and casual.
- I really knew it. Ryle and Zack may have similarities in physical aspects and they even look a like, but the only difference is that Ryle is the exact opposite of his younger brother. Ryle is patient and compassionate, whereas Zack is harsh and ruthless.
- "Heard it, guys? Don't be too harsh on Irryn!" Yago seconded my stepbrother's motion, then winked at me.
- The mouths of the girls were closed and the two girls with the boys seemed to be embarrassed. They have no effect on me at all.
- I don't care about what other people say to me since Zack is the only one who affects me and offends me. Only him…
- "I'll say whatever I want, and neither of you could shut me up!" roared Zack, speaking in a low but firm and indignant tone and glaring at the men defending me, including his brother Ryle.
- "Whoa? Zack, calm down! You're so wild!" Vandyke was intrigued by his seriousness and darkness.
- It was followed by Dencel's chuckle, which made Zack feel even worse for both of them.
- I was worried for Dencel and Vandyke so it was nice to speak to ease the tension between the boys. They appeared to be friends before I came, and I didn't want them to any argue.
- "Uhm, Zack's right." I said with a wry smile on Zack's glare. "After all, it's just his opinion towards me. It's just an opinion so let it be. I am not even affected by anybody's words. No one could ever control anyone's opinion no matter how it goes against us."
- "You're very clever, Ryn!" Vandyke admired. "If I were your stepbrother, you would never hear harsh words from me, and I would never allow anyone, including my friends, to speak badly of you."
- I'm not sure, but it feels like I heard Vandyke's warning after hearing that, but not for me, but for the nasty Zack.
- "That's correct! I'll be nice to you, as well, Ryn!" Yago supported his friend's showing care at me.
- I smiled, feeling glad that they were taking side on me.
- I wish everyone was such a friendly and lighthearted companion. If only they were as smart and cool as they were, including these girls and Zack himself, but I couldn't do anything. Each one's different and their attitudes, too.
- "Fake b*stards!" There was an intensity in Zack's voice as it seemed to kill the men who spoke to defend me from their bad behaviors.
- He had his gaze back on me, and I could feel them becoming more threatening. My eyes dropped on the sand.
- I was startled and glanced up to them as, without hesitation, he grabbed the woman in black one piece to drag her closer to his body, leaving the said woman stunned but delighted with excitement, and then he kissed her in front of all of us.
- "Whoa! Whoa! When Zack Lamont becomes enraged, he becomes turns so wild and hot!" Flamur clapped and laughed.
- What seriously is wrong with my second stepbrother for being like this?
