Chapter 26 Finding The Culprit ( Two)
- Ava wandered through the quiet walls of the mansion, the warmth from her morning coffee doing little to ease the sense of distance lingering between her and Alexander. Their night together had been more than she expected—more than she thought he could have cared . Yet, his cool dismissal that morning left her wondering if it had meant anything to him at all.
- As she approached his study, she heard low, muffled voices from the slightly ajar door. Curious, she hesitated, her hand hovering over the knob.
