Chapter 16 Xuchun Was Beaten Up
- Tang Xuchun swiftly hailed a cab to the Tang family’s villa.
- After she got into the car, her face turned solemn.
- She told the driver where she wanted to go, then leaned back into the seat. It didn’t take a sharp mind to guess what her family wanted from her.
- All of them, especially Tang Jingjing, treated her like an ATM machine. They thought that she would become rich after marrying into the Yan family.
- Tang Xuchun suddenly recalled the humiliation she had suffered last night. She had never felt so ashamed before! It should have been Tang Jingjing who suffered that. Why was life so unfair!
- At the Tang family’s villa, she got off the car. Luckily, the hospital had given her some cash. Otherwise, she wouldn’t even have enough money for the cab fare.
- She pushed open the door and entered the villa.
- “Xuchun is back!” When Tang Songyun saw Tang Xuchun, he immediately grinned.
- But seeing that she was empty-handed, he became slightly upset.
- Tang Jingjing and her mother, Deng Yingmei, were sitting on the couch in a haughty manner as they waited for Tang Xuchun’s return. As she walked into the living room, they noticed that she was dressed plainly. However, Tang Jingjing recognized that the plain shirt was Gucci’s latest release, and even though those jeans looked normal, it must have been very expensive too considering the sharp cutting. But what caught her eye was that bag.
- It was a brand new, limited edition Chanel bag.
- That bag was outrageously expensive, yet Tang Xuchun was actually carrying one!
- Tang Jingjing’s eyes widened.
- “Tang Xuchun, have you forgotten what I told you? And you still haven’t returned my necklace set you brought to the Yan family previously!” Tang Jingjing stared at the bag. She had just seen it in the magazine yesterday and liked it very much, but she didn’t get it because of the price. Moreover, this bag was limited edition, so even if one had the money, it might not even be enough to get hold of one.
- “I didn’t come from the Yan family villa. I’ll take note of it next time,” Tang Xuchun replied.
- “How is my Grandma?” She had only come back because they said that something had happened to her grandma.
- “There’s nothing wrong with your grandma now,” Tang Jingjing said, still staring at Tang Xuchun’s bag.
- When Tang Xuchun heard this half-hearted reply, she knitted her brows.
- “If that’s so, then I’ll take my leave.” She turned around and walked to the door.
- But Tang Jingjing immediately leaped up from the couch and grabbed onto Tang Xuchun’s bag.
- “Tang Xuchun, have you forgotten what I told you? I let you have the privilege of marrying into the Yan family. How do you plan to repay me? Where are my gifts?” Tang Jingjing demanded arrogantly. Her entitled attitude was simply repulsive.
- With a cold expression on her face, Tang Xuchun said calmly, “Since you are so reluctant to let me marry into Yan family, why don’t I tell them that I’m just a substitute and you are the one they actually chose! In that case, all the glory and riches from marrying into the Yan family will be yours without me having to transport them to you.” Even though she maintained a neutral expression on her face, her tone was rather sarcastic.
- The memory from last night was still clear in her mind. These people had forced into that hell pit, yet still pretended as if they had done her a favor.
- They are simply disgusting!
- Looking at Tang Xuchun’s sneer and sarcastic tone, Tang Jingjing became furious.
- Raising her hand, she slapped Tang Xuchun across the face.
- Slap!
- “You b*tch! I’ve wanted to slap you a long time ago. How dare you threaten me? I’ll kill your grandmother!” Tang Jingjing’s tone was vicious. She had given Tang Xuchun a very heavy slap.
- Instantly, Tang Xuchun’s cheek started swelling up. There was even a clear hand mark on her face.
- She turned back her head and glared at Tang Jingjing icily.
- But hearing what Tang Jingjing just said, she had no choice but to suppress her anger.
- She really wanted to tear that vicious face apart!
- But she couldn’t do that. She didn’t dare take the risk, not while her grandmother was still in their hands.
- Fists clenched tightly by her side; she gritted her teeth miserably.
- Tang Jingjing was delighted as she saw Tang Xuchun didn’t dare to talk back.
- Raising an eyebrow, she narrowed her eyes as if looking down at an insignificant insect.
- “When you come back tomorrow, you better bring all the clothes and bags back from the Yan family. I want them too! Also, pass me all the allowance money they have given you!” Tang Jingjing was sure that the Yan family would have given Tang Xuchun many benefits.
- These were all rightfully hers, so it was natural for her to want them!
- Tang Xuchun scoffed. “I don’t think you’ll like what the Yan family has given me. Besides, they didn’t give me any allowance. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the Yan family directly.”
- Tang Jingjing was still holding onto Tang Xuchun’s bag. Hearing the latter’s retort, her face darkened as her gaze became venomous.
- “Tang Xuchun, you’re really a b*tch. Back then, you weren’t willing to marry into a rich family. But now when you are living a luxurious life, you tell me you don’t have any money? Your bag alone is worth a million! Don’t try to lie to me. You’ll regret it,” Tang Jingjing threatened.
- She was so envious of Tang Xuchun’s possessions.
- How could she have no money? Only a fool would believe that!
- Tang Songyun and his wife didn’t interfere and just let Tang Jingjing pick on Tang Xuchun.
- “A million?” Tang Xuchun got a shock hearing this.
- The Yan family had prepared a walk-in wardrobe for her. There were racks of clothes and bags displayed inside like in a clothing store.
- She had just found a plain outfit and a simple bag that she liked from the wardrobe without thinking too much about it.
- She didn’t know that the bag cost a million!
- Tang Xuchun was truly stunned.
- “Leave the bag here! Go back to the Yan family this instant and set up a video call with me. I want to choose from your wardrobe!” Tang Jingjing said commandingly as if she were a queen.
- “I’m sorry but I can’t do that. If you think that I’ve taken all your benefits, I’ll let you take my spot. You can have all the clothes and bags you want. I don’t want any of them,” Tang Xuchun said coldly.
- Her words sounded obedient, but her expression was rebellious.
- Tang Jingjing raised up her hand again in anger.
- “You dare to defy me?”
- If Young Master Yan was a normal person, of course, she wouldn’t mind marrying him! How would this country bumpkin even get a chance!
- Tang Xuchun wasn’t willing to agree to her requests not only because it was dishonest, but also because she disgusted by Tang Jingjing’s entitled behavior!
- “Let me ask you again. Will you go?” Tang Jingjing asked coldly.
- “I’m sorry, I can’t do that.”
- If she agreed to that, she would be a thief!
- And if she set a precedent, it would not bode well for her.
- If the Yan family found out that she had been dishonest, Tang Xuchun felt that she would definitely be doomed to hell.
- That man! That cold, abnormal man wasn’t someone she could afford to offend.
- “You b*tch!” The more she looked at Tang Xuchun, the angrier Tang Jingjing got.
- She raised a hand, intending to hit Tang Xuchun again.
- Tang Xuchun merely gritted her teeth and didn’t resist, preparing herself to get hit again.
- In the eyes of the Tang family, she was just a pushover. As long as they could vent their anger on her, she was willing to bear it just so their anger wouldn’t implicate her grandmother.
- Just then, a car stopped outside the house and a tall, hostile figure walked over.
