Chapter 5 The Cheaper Woman

  • It was not definitely easy to be a receptionist. One would need to stand all the time. Of course, now she was just on probation, so she was just standing by and studying.
  • Towards noon, the car outside pulled in and stopped at the door.
  • The security guard immediately came forward and stood in unison, and the air seemed to become cautious.
  • Sheila, who was on duty next to her reminded, "Here comes Mr. Cage!"
  • Veronica Parker's spine straightened instantly. "Mr. Cage?" She thought.
  • This was bad luck that she had met on the first day!
  • The bodyguard opened the door, and the people in the car came down. The first to come out had long legs and high-end Oxford shoes in pitch black.
  • It was as if the air was turbulent. Such as being invaded, the powerful aura was coming that surprisingly filled such a large hall. The people seemed to be holding their breaths.
  • Veronica Parker's eyes were half-closed as he saw the man's legs came in, she thought to herself that the man's legs were quite long. Just as she looked up, she saw the handsome and indifferent face of a man. Veronica Parker was all bad, and she hurriedly lowered her face in fear of being seen by the cold man.
  • Kay Tours, who followed behind Nick Cage, saw the new face at the front desk and was stupefied for a moment. He did not expect to see her here.
  • Mr. Cage's line of sight was also on the face of the newcomer, but he had withdrawn it coldly.
  • It was not until Nick Cage entered the exclusive elevator surrounded by two or three people behind him that Veronica Parker dared to lift her head.
  • She heaved a long sigh and comforted herself. Fortunately, Nick Cage did not embarrass her. So, she remained calm and did not panic.
  • Anyway, when Director Noyes would find someone new, she would leave here immediately.
  • "Mr. Cage is so handsome." Sheila clasped her hands on her chest, very excited. It seemed that what she had said was not enough, so she turned around and asked Veronica Parker, "Isn't he handsome?"
  • Veronica Parker only smiled and said shortly, "Yes, he is handsome."
  • "He is the kind of handsome that dangerous. Mr. Cage, however, could only be seen, but he was out of reach! I don't know which woman will be cheaper in the future."
  • Veronica Parker was guilty. She did not know which woman was cheaper in the future, but she still knew that she used to be cheap.
  • Nick Cage had entered the office, his slender fingers fell on the back of the chair, then he turned slightly, and the seat automatically turned over.
  • He then sat down, sunk into the black seat, and said, "Transfer the front desk monitor."
  • Kay Tours was stunned but he immediately understood, "Yes."
  • He turned to the door and went out.
  • A few minutes later, Nick Cage was in front of the computer screen and it showed videos in nine grid. He clicked on one of them to enlarge, it showed Veronica Parker.
  • Nick Cage leaned back slightly, then crossed his legs. With lazy and deep breaths, he looked sharply at the little face on the screen.
  • On the other hand, the person being watched did not know it at all and continued to work seriously.
  • Veronica Parker stood all morning and had to stand until 05:00 in the afternoon.
  • This was the first time she has stood so long like this, still wearing high heels. He felt tired and her feet were painful.
  • Sheila said that she would get used to it later.
  • But that's the future.
  • In the afternoon, Veronica Parker couldn't endure standing any longer. While the supervisor was away, Veronica Parker secretly freed her white feet from her high heels and stepped on the back of the other. Her lovely white toes curled up a little uneasily.
  • Her smart eyes always pay attention everywhere.
  • That was awesome.
  • Although this could not be completely liberated, it was also very comfortable.
  • She freed the right foot, and then also freed the left foot. She kept her movements minimal as she was afraid of Sheila that was just beside her to see.
  • Just after she had cooled down her left foot and was ready to change her right foot, her line of sight inadvertently fell on the monitoring place in the upper right corner. Veronica Parker's expression instantly froze.
  • Her little foot hurriedly put back into the shoe.
  • She could not believe that she had forgotten about the surveillance!
  • She only hoped that she had not been seen to be unruly at work.
  • "What are you doing?" A male clerk came over with good facial features and smiling eyes.
  • Veronica Parker was startled. She did not think he saw what she did just now, right?
  • But it seemed that it was not to be held accountable, but was he here to pick up a conversation?
