Chapter 7

  • KIENNA
  • As the car pulled up and the driver stepped out, I could feel Grey’s grip on my arm tighten.
  • “This is it, you’re in for it now,” he hissed.
  • But I wasn’t about to go down without a fight.
  • “What's going on here?” The driver asked, he was dressed in a black suit.
  • The car was highly tinted and screamed of luxury.
  • “The impudent woman is creating a sin and has refused to leave” Grey said to the driver who just nodded his head slowly.
  • “Then throw her out or lock her up! The boss has an important meeting, do something to get her out of the way” The driver said and I gasped in disbelief.
  • All the workers here were rude.
  • But I was not going to give up!! Not now, not ever!!
  • “In your dreams!!” I fired at the driver.
  • “Now get your stinking hands off me, I'll talk to your damn boss myself “ I yelled as Grey looked at me In shock like I had uttered a word of abomination.
  • He was still reasoning what I said when I managed to get out of his hold and ran to the car, going straight to the back window.
  • “I need to speak with you, immediately “ I knocked on the window.
  • Since they were all trying to be difficult, I had no choice than to do things the hard way.
  • The man who emerged from the other side of the car was tall and broad-shouldered, his charcoal-gray suit immaculate.
  • He looked more like a CEO than a construction boss, but his eyes told another story. They were cold, calculating, and assessing the scene before him with a predatory stare.
  • The man raised an eyebrow, considering me for a moment.
  • “Gray,” he called, turning to the guard.
  • “What’s going on here?”
  • “She’s trespassing, sir. Tried to force her way in without a reservation letter.” Gray replied, he head facing the ground as he dared not look at the man.
  • A man like Gray looked Intimidated in his presence.
  • But he exudes the aura that would make people scared of him and Kienna could confess that he was so freaking handsome.
  • “Please, I came here in peace, just spare me a little moment of your time” I ran to him, holding his hand without any second thought.
  • And everyone stared at me in shock!
  • “How dare you touch the boss” the driver launched at me as he pushed me away like I was some smelling dirt.
  • “Sir, should I throw her out?” He asked, his head facing the ground as he stood in front of the boss.
  • “Please just thirty minutes, I'm not here to cause trouble” I pleaded with my hands joined together as our eyes finally met.
  • His brows joined together, his eyes studying me, before he finally spoke in the most enthralling voice ever.
  • “Very well, come around to the passenger door” he turned to leave as he went back into the car.
  • All of us were stunned, what just happened?
  • Anyways I was glad, I finally got the chance, and Gray?? I won and he lost!
  • I couldn’t help but smirk at Gray’s stunned expression as I made my way to the passenger door. I gave him a triumphant glance over my shoulder before sliding into the car beside the man in the suit.
  • The leather seats were smooth and cool against my skin, a stark contrast to the warm adrenaline pumping through my veins.
  • “Thank you,” I appreciated as the man settled back into his seat.
  • “My name is Kienna, and I need your help” I began, but he did not give me a reply, instead focused his eyes on the iPad he was holding.
  • I smiled to myself, I guess he was not ready to talk then.
  • The gates were finally opened as the car began to move.
  • The hum of the car’s engine was the only sound as we made our way through the gates and onto the property.
  • I stared out the window at the landscaped grounds, trying to maintain my composure.
  • The car finally stopped in front of the main building in the company. Just when I was about to step out, the car was opened by a man outside.
  • I stepped out of the car, as well as the boss who came out from the other side.
  • There were a lot of men in black waiting.
  • I felt a shiver run down my spine as I took in the line of men in black suits, their faces impassive and their eyes trained on their boss.
  • A sense of dread began to creep over me, and I suddenly felt very small and vulnerable. What kind of power did he hold?
  • The boss began to walk into the building as I walked timidly behind him.
  • We got to an elevator, which we took. The entire ride was silent as he didn't say a word to me.
  • We finally arrived at the office.
  • The doors slid open, and I found myself in an office so vast and luxurious that it could have rivaled the grandest hotels.
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows offered a stunning view of the cityscape, while the walls were adorned with rare artworks and fine tapestries.
  • But it wasn’t just the opulence that caught my attention—it was the palpable air of power and authority that hung like a weight in the room.
  • I took it all in with wide eyes, feeling out of place in my simple dress and flats.
  • “Um, I'm sorry for any inconveniences, it's just that I got a message from your company that my shop is going to be demolished, please look into this, because I just bought the shop and…”
  • “Where are you from Kienna?” He suddenly interrupted, like what I was saying did not make any sense to him.
  • “Um, uhh..” I drew out.
  • “Here” I replied, in an unsure voice. I was definitely not going to mention the pack I was born and brought up in. That place was history now.
  • “I see..” he muttered, stepping close to him.
  • I gulped loudly as he was only a few inches away from me, his height towering above me.
  • There seemed to be something going on in his mind as he kept studying me, then he suddenly picked up my hair, which he smelled.
  • What sort of rubbish was that? How dare him touch my hair to smell? I took that as a form of disrespect as I angrily and abruptly pushed him away from me.
