Chapter 5
- Kienna
- I arrived in front of Ashford company and couldn't help but stare in awe at how big and beautiful it was.
- I inhaled deeply preparing myself to go in as I approached the gates.
- The gates were already locked and from the look of things, no worker would be allowed to come in again.
- “Excuse me” I approached one of the security guards with a polite smile on my face.
- “Please, I want to speak with the manager” I informed, not knowing if that was the right way to start the conversation, but that was the only thing that came to my mind.
- The guard who was dressed in all black, a middle aged man, looked at me for a brief moment, before looking away, acting like I was completely invisible.
- “Excuse me, I'm right here” I waved at him, I knew I was short, but I was not invisible.
- He was way taller than me and I literally felt like a kid in his presence.
- “I'd like to speak with the manager..” I requested, as I turned to look at the other guard there. He ignored me as well.
- “I'm not talking to statues, hello!!” I raised not voice this time, taking the initiative to tap him.
- “I'm want to speak with the manager” I said after he looked at me, finally.
- “Leave, this place is not for peasants like you!!” He finally said in a deep cold voice that scared the living hell out of me.
- I paused as I took a look at my outfit over and over again to see if I was dressed like a peasant. I was not!
- Everything was okay, though it was of a cheap quality, but it was still okay.
- The only thing I could admit that was out of place, would be my old car, which I obviously did not bring. I packed it back at my shop.
- “How can you call me a peasant, I just said I need to speak with the manager here and you call me a peasant!! What sort of a behavior is that!!” I exclaimed, anger coursing through my veins. If guards could act this rude, then how would the main employees inside act.
- “Miss, please leave. You're causing a sin..” he said politely, as my eyes darted to the gates that was securely locked.
- “A sin??” I scoffed, my eyes wide in surprise.
- “How am I doing that?? I came here to see the manager but here you are, talking so rudely to me, what kind of behavior is that??”
- “And who do you think you are to see the manager? Do you even have a reservation? Or do you think this is any company that you can just barge into and request to see that manager?” He rolled his eyes at me.
- “You should leave, while I'm still being nice”
- As the security guard spoke, I couldn't help but feel my anger building. "Listen, I don't need to prove anything to you. If the manager doesn't want to talk to me, then they can come out and tell me themselves”
- The guard's expression hardened, his jaw clenched. "I'm warning you, miss. This is not a game. You should leave before you get yourself into trouble."
- I scoffed. "Trouble? What kind of trouble? An ordinary security guard threatening me” I uttered in disbelief, what was wrong with opening the gates, so I would just go in.
- “I know your kind..” he began.
- “You're one of those desperate women trying to gain attention, you're neither educated nor qualified to even get a job here, so leave before I throw you out!’
- “Desperate” I repeated. I only came to talk to the manager, so the shop I paid for wouldn't be demolished, I was only desperate for my own rights.
- “I'm not here for a job, I just want to..”
