Chapter 6
- Kienna
- “If you want to see anybody, bring your reservation letter..” he interrupted as I stared at him in surprise. Where was I supposed to get that?
- “Reservation letter? What reservation letter?” I demanded, feeling the frustration boil over.
- “I’m here because your company is about to destroy my shop. How am I supposed to have a reservation letter?”
- The guard sighed, as if he was growing tired of my presence.
- “If you don’t have the proper paperwork, then there’s nothing I can do for you.”
- “So that’s it? You’re just going to let your company trample all over me and my business?”
- “That's your problem, come with your reservation letter and you'll be allowed in..” he said keeping a straight face.
- “I can see you're not serious!!” I exclaimed at the top of my voice. I was not the type that gave up easily and I was definitely not going to back down.
- I was a single mother, that shop was my only means of survival.
- “I'm going to get in no matter what!!”
- I stormed towards the gate, my heart pounding in my chest. I couldn’t let this guard stand in my way. My children's future was at stake, how would I pay their fees?
- “I won’t leave until I get to talk to someone in charge,” I yelled, my voice echoing through the air.
- The guard stiffened, his hand inching towards the walkie-talkie on his hip. “I’m calling for backup,” he warned.
- “You better call for a backup that's going to take you to a hospital!!” I threatened pointing my fingers at him.
- “Because I'm going to beat you to a pulp if you lay your hands on me!!” What was I even saying?? That man was fucking huge.
- He seemed taken aback by my words as he soon began to laugh.
- “Grey, who's she??” The other guard asked for the first time.
- “Another crazy woman, but I'll put her in her place” he said, sounding confident.
- As Grey reached for his walkie-talkie, I made a split-second decision. With all the strength I could muster, I grabbed his wrist and twisted it back, sending the device clattering to the ground.
- “Don’t you dare call anyone,” I snarled.
- Grey let out a grunt of pain, but quickly recovered. “You little-”
- “You’ll what? Hit me? Go ahead,” I said, raising my chin in defiance.
- “Give me another reason to sue your company for hitting a woman??”
- “You call yourself a woman?”
- “You're definitely going to be locked up today” And with that he grabbed my both hands together.
- “Let's see who owns the power” he smirked as I began to struggle with him.
- “Get your hands off me!” I grunted.
- He was about to whisk me away when a car horn loudly, driving towards the gate.
- “The boss is here..” he announced as I sighed in relief. I was finally going to talk to someone.
- “You should have left earlier” he said to me with a look of ‘’ told you so’
- “Now you're toast. He's definitely not going to spare you” he added as I rolled my eyes.
- We would see who was going to spare who.
