Chapter 9 Prison House

• The following morning, Chantelle opened her eyes to find herself already in bed. The room was silent as she surveyed her surroundings. Jax was nowhere to be seen, and his clothes from the previous day had been neatly folded on the bedside table. She scanned the room once more, half-expecting him to still be there, but to her relief, he had already left.
• Just as she was getting up from the bed, her eyes fell on a note and a phone box resting on the side table. Frowning, she picked up the note and read it carefully.
