• “Who let you in?” the woman questioned, her footsteps resonating in every nook and cranny of the living room. “I have no idea Jax is bringing women here again.”
• Chantelle’s muscles tensed involuntarily, but Brianna’s beaming face urged her on. “It’s grandma, mommy! Come!” she exclaimed, pulling her along by the hand.
• Brianna did a half-running walk, which made Chantelle scared she might slip and fall. She followed her and remarked, “Be careful, Brianna!”
