• IT WAS another two days before Almeric was able to return to the Villa Mimosa.
• The day following his visit to see Elizabeth, he’d had to fly down to Rio to attend a shareholders’ meeting, and then in the evening he’d been roped into a family dinner. In consequence, it was the afternoon of the following day before he was able to fly back to Montevista.
• He’d considered driving down to Porto Verde that evening. But, remembering the awkwardness of his departure, he’d decided it would be easier if, when he and Elizabeth met again, it was daylight.
