Chapter 4 Cheap Girl
- “Damn, why didn’t you tell me earlier?” Du Shaoheng demanded.
- “I already told you that the boss is looking for me.” Lu Yi turned around and left after replying.
- Looking at Lu Yi’s back, Du Shaoheng stomped his feet in frustration.
- Even though he was at the helm of Du Group, he still had to take instructions from someone else.
- But what could he do? He was not the better fighter.
- Du Shaoheng decided to go back home first. He would make a trip back to the company at night to beg for Lu Zhanting’s mercy, so that he would not be sent to that run-down place.
- “Boss, I have completed the investigation. Miss Mu is studying at the Imperial City College,” Lu Yi reported courteously.
- “Ok, I got it,” Lu Zhanting replied coldly.
- “What do you feel like eating today? Now that you are injured, you need to have a light diet. I will ask Uncle Jin to arrange it,” Lu Yi said in a respectful tone.
- “I am fine with anything.”
- Lu Yi gave a briefing to Lu Zhanting about a few other matters before leaving with some stuff.
- At this moment, Lu Zhanting lifted his head suddenly. Three words were uttered from his red, thin lips.
- “Mu Xitong,” Lu Zhanting chortled with amusement.
- ——
- A substantial distance away, Mu Xitong let out a sneeze in her rented room.
- “Who on earth is badmouthing me?” Mu Xitong pouted her lips while saying.
- Ring!
- “Hello.” She spoke to her phone in a fuzzy tone.
- “Mu Xitong, do you know what time is it now? How daring of you to skip Miss Cold Blood’s lesson today!” Her best friend, Zhuo Anran, was yelling at her from the other side.
- “Oh, arghhhhh!!!!” Mu Xitong came to her senses, and she was at a loss of what to do next.
- “So you do know that you’re late. What did you do earlier today? What happened to you?” Zhuo Anran prompted in great exasperation.
- Listening to Zhuo Anran’s words, she thought of the man she saved last night. She turned her head to look at the sofa. However, the man on the sofa had vanished into thin air, as if nothing had happened before.
- “He’s gone,” Mu Xitong muttered under her breath.
- “What did you say? Who’s gone?” Zhuo Anran was puzzled.
- “The cat.” Mu Xitong lied. She was not that foolish to tell her about it.
- “You better come here as soon as you can. Otherwise, Miss Cold Blood will not go easy on you.” Zhuo Anran was still shouting from the other end.
- “Okay, I got it. I’m on my way,” Mu Xitong said patiently.
- She hung up the phone and gathered her stuff for school hastily!
- “It’s all that man’s fault. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be late for school. I will definitely get scolded by Miss Cold Blood later. Why am I so unlucky?” While her hands were busy packing things up, her mouth was busy complaining.
- By the time she got ready, it was already ten in the morning. With her bag, she quickly made a beeline for Imperial City College.
- Getting into the Imperial City College to study jewelry design had always been her goal in life.
- When she reached the school, she was immediately summoned to the lecturers’ office by Miss Cold Blood.
- “M-Miss Li.” Mu Xitong addressed her guiltily.
- Miss Cold Blood, as mentioned by Mu Xitong, was a woman in her forties. She had a slender figure and she was bespectacled and dressed in a formal suit.
- “Mu Xitong, look at the score of your Mathematics test. Not only is your score disappointing, you actually dared to play truant. What should I do with you?” Miss Cold Blood, Li Meifeng, sternly chastised while slamming a test paper down on the table.
- Mu Xitong kept her eyes wide open innocuously at Li Meifeng and attempted to make a clarification. “I can explain, Miss Li.”
- “I don’t want to hear you explain. Please inform your parents to come now.” Li Meifeng refused to hear her out.
- Listening to her words, Mu Xitong forced out a bitter smile. “Miss Li, they are not free.”
- “In that case, ask them to come tomorrow. Xitong, I am doing this for your sake. You will regret it if you don’t master Mathematics.”
- “I understand, Miss Li. I will get my parents to come tomorrow.” Mu Xitong helplessly nodded her agreement.
- “Fine, you may leave now. Please make corrections to your mistakes in the test,” Li Meifeng instructed.
- Mu Xitong took the test paper with her and walked out of the office. She reached the ground floor of the building and was going to look for Zhuo Anran when she saw the person she had been trying to avoid.
- A girl was wearing a light yellow dress and a high heel of several inches. Her hair cascaded down her back naturally and she was wearing bright red lipstick. All in all, there was nothing on her that costed less than a three-figure sum.
- At the sight of the girl, Mu Xitong turned around and left without thinking.
- “Xitong, wait for me.” Xiao Yufei’s whiny voice sounded from behind.
- Mu Xitong tried to shake off the goose bumps on her. However, she continued walking without stopping her strides.
- “Hey, stop right there. Didn’t you hear Yufei?” a girl wearing a white dress exclaimed.
- “Exactly, how rude.” The other girl in a pink shirt spoke up.
- Mu Xitong felt as though she had just listened to the most ridiculous joke in the world.
- She was rude? Haha, Xiao Yufei had been laying her hands on everything she loved ever since they were little.
- She took her father away and made plans to sabotage her. Because of Xiao Yufei, her father had become very disappointed in her.
- When they were little, Xiao Yufei would cry loudly and claimed that she was sabotaged by Mu Xitong when she was the one who had stolen stuff from others. Because of her, she was always beaten up by her father.
- Mu Xitong found it hard to comprehend. She clearly did not want to make enemies, so why did those people insist on messing with her?
- “Yuqing, Shanshan, don’t be so harsh. Something must have happened to my sister,” Xiao Yufei said in a teary voice.
- Mu Xitong remained silent as she had long gotten used to Xiao Yufei’s character.
- “Oh my. Yufei, you are too kind. That’s why you are always bullied by your sister,” Zhou Yuqing commented.
- “Exactly. She ignored you although you tried to talk with her with a pleasant attitude,” Pei Shanshan chimed in.
- Xiao Yufei felt elated deep down inside when she heard their comments. The corners of her mouth revealed a slight grin of satisfaction when no one was looking. She then continued talking.
- “It’s not like this. My sister must be in a bad mood. Please don’t blame her for that.” Xiao Yufei tried to clarify.
- “Xiao Yufei, have you said enough?” Mu Xitong threatened in a firm voice.
- “Mu Xitong, watch your tone. Your sister treats you so nicely. You should be grateful for that,” Zhou Yuqing criticised her disgruntledly.
- “You are indeed a cheap slut,” Pei Shanshan said in contempt.
- “Crazy girl is referring to who?” Mu Xitong challenged in a frosty voice. She laid her bait secretly.
- “Crazy girl is referring to you,” Pei Shanshan retorted.
- “Oh, I see. You really are a crazy girl.” Mu Xitong looked as if she had just realized.
- Only then did Pei Shanshan come to her senses that she had been tricked. She stared at Mu Xitong and turned her face up.
- “Cheap girl, how dare you?” With that, she lunged forward and tried to pull Mu Xitong’s hair.
- Zhou Yuqing and Xiao Yufei stood and watched the ensuing drama. At this moment, Xiao Yufei felt deeply satisfied.
- Mu Xitong, no matter what, I will tarnish your reputation, Xiao Yuting thought.
- “Stop it!” A voice filled with rage was heard.
- Mu Xitong and Pei Shanshan let each other go. There were some abrasions on Mu Xitong’s neck whereas there were some scratch marks on Pei Shanshan’s face.
