Chapter 8 His Weak Spot

  • 8.
  • NEXT DAY…
  • Selene sighed as she walked into the hallways. After Dominic left the dojo the previous day, the students jeered at her and those that were jealous even went ahead to call her names and accused her of purposely making Mr. Ethan pair her and Dominic.
  • She tried to ignore them, knowing that her stay here was limited but some of their words were quite harsh and hurtful. She thought she knew what high school girls faced, especially the newbies when she was in her goddess form, but it seemed she knew nothing.
  • She was equally shocked when out of the number of girls they had, she was the one who got paired with Dominic and wanted to ask Mr. Ethan about it but she refrained from doing so.
  • She looked around to see if Dominic was in school but couldn't find him. With a sigh, she went for her locker and opened it to see a dead bird in it.
  • She didn't scream and looked at the students who were all gathered to take photos and videos of her reaction. Their initial plan was to scare her and get it on camera but when she didn't show any reaction, they frowned and started murmuring amongst themselves.
  • Selene scoffed, took the dead bird by the tail and took it to the school's backyard. She knew their tradition too well. Royals Training Academy was the best school ever, and most of the students that attended were from very powerful and renowned packs. They were proud of themselves and used every little opportunity they had to bully the newbies because they thought their packs were inferior.
  • She knew what they were capable of doing, and while opening her locker, she already knew what to expect.
  • “They had to kill you so as to scare me,” She spoke to the dead bird, while caressing its head. “They were so thoughtless to have killed you like that. Such troublesome kids!” She snapped and facepalmed.
  • She touched the bird's head and a little glow appeared. It came back to life and flew away. She sighed and stood up. Her eyes locked with that of Dominic and she wondered if he had seen what she did.
  • Dominic said nothing to her and started walking away. She rushed and caught up with him. “Good morning, partner,” She forced a smile but Dominic didn't answer her. “Aren't you going to answer me?” She asked and blocked his path.
  • “What the heck do you think you're doing? Do I look like a child in elementary school to you?” He asked in annoyance.
  • “I'm sorry. I just wanted you to answer me.” She answered.
  • “I choose who and who not to answer. You aren't worth my time so get the fuck out of my way!” He snapped at her.
  • “Dominic,” She called and his heart skipped a beat. He didn't know why her calling his name with that tiny voice of hers sent Sparks of electricity down his system. He hated that feeling.
  • “Stay away from me!” He pushed her out of the way and left.
  • Selene sighed and ruffled her hair with a frown. “Where the heck is his weak spot? I need to find it.” She muttered to herself and left for class.
  • She entered and the students glanced at each other.
  • “She must be an alien. She didn't even act frightened.”
  • “I know, right? She stood there emotionless.”
  • “She was irritating as well. She took the dead bird by the tail. So gross.”
  • “I'm sure she isn't a wolf.”
  • Selene could hear them whispering but she ignored them and walked to her seat. She sat down and brought out her notes. She remembered that she hadn't written the previous notes for the Martial arts class and took her pen.
  • After writing down the title, she closed her eyes and meditated silently. Suddenly, everything the man said started coming to her head and she began writing them in her book.
  • Dominic didn't want to get involved and know what she was writing with so much seriousness but he was curious and adjusted in his seat so as to get a view. He realized she was writing a note on the teachings in Martial arts class and was shocked to see that she was writing everything from her head.
  • He took his own book and glanced through it. Her notes were almost similar to his and he wondered if she might have read his book and formed hers from it, but one thing he knew was that no one comes close to his bag. And he had been ignoring her so how is she doing what she was doing?
  • Selene could notice his stare but she didn't want to look up at him. When she was done writing, she turned to look at him and he looked away from her.
  • “When are we going to start training together?” She asked.
  • “When do you want us to start?” He asked and she was surprised that he actually answered her this time.
  • “Umm… I'm ready whenever you're ready.” She replied and he smirked.
  • “Before I tell you when we're going to start, I need to ask you a question,” He said and turned to look into her eyes. Selene couldn't hold his gaze and lowered her head. She didn't know whether it was his Alpha Aura working or she was shy to look him in the eyes.
  • “What question is that?” She asked.
  • “Will you be able to cope?” He asked and she smiled.
  • If only he knew the level of her strength.
  • “Yes. I can cope.” She answered and he scoffed.
  • “And are you sure you aren't going to run away even though you're on the verge of dying?” He asked and she arched her brows.
  • “I don't understand.” She muttered.
  • He reached into his school bag and brought out a paper. He had stayed up all night getting it ready. If he is able to bound her with that, he doesn't need to worry about her being his mate anymore.
  • He threw the file to her side.
  • “You'd have to sign a contract before officially becoming my martial arts partner.”
  • “What!” Selene exclaimed.
